So far, I have used this staple gun to attach upholstery to a wooden frame. The depth dial works just fine, and I when I tested it, I was surprised to find that at lower levels, it could even sink the head of the staple below the level of the wood.I have small hands, and this tool is the perfect size. I can see how it would be uncomfortable for someone with large hands. While it does take notable pressure to dispense the staples, I am able to do so with one hand while keeping the staple gun flat. I did not have any staples jam or even fail to go in correctly. The leverage is much better than that of my last staple gun; with that one, I had to use both hands in order to prevent the gun from popping off the staple, and it was much more difficult to fully close the lever.I'm very happy with this purchase!Update: I tested the levels recently to see if I could staple a cord to the wall and found that the level settings wouldn't leave a staple high enough not to crush a cord. They seem to be from just above the surface to sunken in. So it seems like this wouldn't be a good tool for tacking down cords or cables.

The staple gun looks well made and works great on pine wood, but the holder is really shallow, barely fitting my hand inside, and on "kickbacks" the knuckles hit the bottom part of the handle and they hurts. I used it to make painting canvas and couldn't finish a single one without stopping to alleviate the pain. If you have small hands it may not be a problem for you, otherwise look for an alternative, that's what I'm doing too.Update: After posting this review SHALL customer service contacted me and offered a resolution. Customer service acted fast, very friendly and professionally. Feels good to know that this kind of company is still around.

Too hard to use for a person that would choose pink
