Edit! This polish is actually awesome!
So, after doing some research I realized that I was simply applying the polish incorrectly, and now that I’ve got the application down I love it! I wrote the review below right after receiving the product and trying it out for the first time. I’ve since learned that you really need to apply two coats of a very dark color (preferably black) before painting on the magnetic polish- otherwise you won’t get the full effect. See my before and after pics. The color of this polish isn’t terrible or anything but it’s definitely not what I thought I was purchasing. I ordered the “blue gold” color which in the Amazon photos looks like a dazzling holographic combination of blue, gold, and purple. It’s super shiny with a ton of depth and color play while the product I actually received is a boring metallic lavender. I followed the instructions and warmed it up before applying it and used a strong magnet to try and achieve the cat eye effect but nothing really happened.

ACHTUNG UV-LACK

Purple gold?!
I do like this polish. It’s easy to use and cures nicely. The problem is a) there’s no gold, and b) there’s more blue than purple so it should be called blue purple instead. In sunlight the purple comes out better. Indoors you can’t see much purple to speak of. In hindsight I should have read the reviews before purchasing so I could make sure I’m getting what I want. I’m still keeping this because it is pretty, and I’ll be finding one that has purple that is more dominant.

I’m ordering all the colors!!
Look I’ve read most of the reviews of this product and the bad ones seem to me like it’s a user error issue. With that said, let me explain a few things before you buy this.1. This is a gel polish that will only dry/cure with a UV/LED lamp. THIS IS NOT REGULAR NAIL POLISH.2. I used the magnet that came with mine and it worked just fine. In fact it worked better than the ones that I already own.The reason people are having issues with it is because they don’t realize you have to “activate” it first. Just take the magnet and go around the edges of sides of the nail. That will bring the glitter forward and create the depth that you see with the “velvet” nail trend look. Then you can make your designs however you’d like (French tip, halo, lines, etc.). Then pop it into the lamp. It’s not easy to do the designs that takes practice. This polish is thicker than my other cat eyes and does move a little slower when shifting but it is cold in my house so, it could be that. If that is an issue for you then you need to do the warm bath trick to make your polish more fluid. Also don’t forget to shake it up because glitter tends to settle to the bottom after a period of time. Patience and practice is key to making cat eye work for you.Regarding my picture and video: The left side of the swatch nail is without a base color and is just on a clear blank. The right side has three coats of black as a base. Please excuse my crusty nails and my dirty desk I am currently working on a set for myself lol. Also, the picture and video just don’t do it justice. I have the purple color and it does have a pink/purple/gold shift to it. With the blue/purple mylar flakes that do not move with the magnet but rest beautifully in the background. My husband said he likes it and it reminds him of a galaxy. Though the base color of the polish itself is transparent. It is tinted a smoky black color and isn’t clear like pictured in the listing so, keep that in mind.

#5 Blue Gold.
I ordered what they call "Blue Gold" and the bottle says #5. It is pretty but it barely has any gold. It is more grape purple and raspberry glitter. But it is very fine and goes on smooth and is pretty...just not like the advertisement. I do like the big chunks of Blue aqua glitter foil flakes, they really pop. Also there is no smell or odor I don't know what others are talking about, or maybe the formula has improved? The first 3 pictures are taken indoors. And the last are in direct sunlight. I will consider purchasing the other colors bc the quality is so nice, I will just not expect it to be identical to the ad.
