I really enjoyed it
The theme of the book seems to be that war never ends. You get to see Sigismund, the legendary Imperial Fist, as he remembers all the gritty details of his childhood and becoming an Astartes.I never liked Sigismund at first, because he seemed very mary sue (yes I know the word is overused). But now I actually relate to him more, and he's one of my favourites.

sigismund
A good story but a little short, keeps you interested but unfortunately over too soon. It would be nice to have more background to flesh out the story.

Excellent
Was dubious about whether or not this would do justice to on3 of the most important characters in heresy series but it actually exceeded my expectations totally. Really enjoyed the book.

Brillant
Brilliant read. Too see into the mind of the champion and to see how he became what we all either love or hate depending on your loyalties. Was a fast read was done in 1 sitting thou to be honest I couldn't put it down once started. Highly recommend this book.

A more detailed dive into a fan favourite character
I kept asking myself did I need this story? did we need this story? the other two character pieces by blacklibrary were very much appreciated and incredibly interesting explorations of their respective characters that needed to be explored more due to either their fleeting presence throughout the horusvheresy or the elusive presence during it.However sigismund has been featured recently and often, throughout the horus heresy and thus the question 'did we need this? The answer is.... yes and no. Yes its a little more history and exploration of sigismund with some great new perspectives on some key events. No as it did not add anything new that we didn't already know. Fans will love this and will be very happy with some of Sigismund's famous duels.

Enjoyed but not part of Siege of Terra
I’m not an Imperial Fist’s fan but enjoyed the Sigismund origin story (and for a second thought about a Tempars army- always a good sign) However this has no bearing on the Siege Of Terra plot so feel free to skip : )

First Warhammer novel-Excellent read
Having added Black Templars as one of the armies I plan to build, purchasing this book as my first Warhammer novel seemed a no brainer. It was an excellent decision. Well written, this book brings interesting background into Sigismund's character. Highly recommend for Black Templar fans or those looking for an interesting read.

Not doing the character justice.
The assembly of short life snippets wants to describe the upbringing of one of the most beloved characters of 40K.Yet it fails where especially the late Heresy/Siege books have succeeded - density, gravitas, structure.Everything feels abbreviated, cut, condensed. There is not much of the hyper-detailing and deep-dive introspect one loves about the universe. It feels blunt, and lifeless, and much, much too short and shallow, and the scarce few high-value scenes are not enough to round up the overall impression. Not doung the Templar justice. At all.A huge disappointment. If you want to feel Sigismund, read "Warhawk".
