What is the distance center to center between mounting holes?

Mounting holes are 2" apart Center would be 1" on main mounting bracket. Another clip (that swivels) fits in between to hold the camera on.

Where is the power cord routed in your picture? Can it be hidden in the wall like that? Or did you leave off just so it looks better?

The cord is not attached in the picture. This picture is staged to allow for a close-up view. The cord would have to come out of the back of the camera and then be routed to a power source that depends on circumstances that are specific to your situation. I DO NOT recommend routing any cord in a manner other than that for which the manufacturer has designed it.

Does the construction of the mount plate allow for the use of command strips for wall mounting ?

The back is not flat. There are 6 void spaces to save material. You may be able to trim command poster strips to the size of the flat spots on the back. I have not really used those strips.
