I needed Velcro for tie-back straps I was adding to my curtains. I chose the sleek and thin version which proved to be an excellent fit, especially since it is so soft and yet adheres well. The sewing machine had no issue and I was able to attach the Velcro to my fabric with ease. It absolutely would be soft on skin if I was using it for clothing.

I've used this to modify bodysuits so that the crotch closure is velcro instead of hook and eye or snap. This is actually comfortable when it rubs against my skin. And I've had no issues with it coming undone when I don't intend for it to. But it doesn't hold so tightly that I can't easily pull it apart when I want to. I ended up doing the sewing by hand because of the existing closures in the same area (which I didn't remove). It's a little tricky to push a needle through, but not so much that I consider it a problem. I'm sure it would be much easier with a sewing machine.

Just what I was looking for

I love having this option for sewing small items, such as Barbie clothes. It works great and is hardly noticeable on such garments.

Used this to fasten two tabs at the back of my hat together. I didn't want to use regular velcro because I hate how the "hook" side tends to catch on everything and roughs up fabric. Tried this smoother version and it worked out great. This smooth velcro doesn't hold quite as strongly as regular rough velcro, but the hold is sufficiently strong to keep the hat tabs together, and the "hook" side doesn't catch on anything except the "loop" side that it is supposed to catch on.
