first time buying bibs....
and my wife fell on the floor laughing when she saw me in them.., :)I am 5'8", 225#, 41 in waist, 21" thighs. bought the XL and XXL - XLs went back. Felt weird putting them on, but they settled in place well. Definitely more comfortable than the bike shorts I have been using. No more worrying they were sliding off and mooning the cars following me~! first ride (20 miles) I expected some fit/adjustment issues - but no problems. I did use a touch of chamois butter on the pad. Overall I am a believer- and have a guaranteed way to get my wife to laugh.

Overall not bad..
Overall not bad... but not great either. The multi-layer fabric construction makes the bit short feel a little bulky. The fabric's exterior surface finish also seemed to provide a distinct lack of purchase on my Fizik Arione. In terms of design keep in mind the higher cut in the front make it harder to execute a quick natural and easy natural break. Chamois is not as comfortable as other Garneau designs but was Ok for a 200 km charity ride. Overall about what I would expect for a sub - $100 bib short. Recommended use - 1 to 2 hour training rides

It feel good when you put on however when you put it ...
It feel good when you put on however when you put it on test drive, it feels bulky, heavy and the straps are a bit long in my opinion. I am 5'7'' and 140 lbs and I wish I've ordered extra small instead of small. The legs have adequate compression but chamois feels bulky as well. I use it when I am on a trainer but on actual roads I use different brand.

Excellent shorts.
Great fitting shorts. They fit well a medium is a medium (I am 5'10'' and 165 lbs and wear a 33 to 34 waist). The fabric feels dense on the short but actually is quite cooling and wicks moisture away well. After a long ride I take them off and I am not sweaty. The shorts dry very quickly. The vented chamois is quite nice - I have shorts without the vent and in comparison to these shorts I can tell "that area" stays cool and dry. It is easy to get into a aero tuck comfortably without hurting or chafing sensitive areas. In fact, I have ridden for miles in these without even needing chamois cream or butter. The chamois doesn't chafe and does not feel like a diaper. After one wash it softens up and breaks in. I think the best part of these shorts is the compression band around the thigh which prevents the short from riding up without needing silicone.

Chamois wears out quickly.
I would give it an ok rating. I would give it a great rating but I think the chamois is not very durable. I have had two (2) pairs of these and they both had problems with the chamois. Stitching came apart and where it is stitched to the bibs themselves it wears out there too quickly in my opinion. I have had other brands and never have problems with those chamois(s). Probably will try and couple of different brands this year to see if I can get a better product. Have a nice day.

Medium was proper fit and perfect length. Be sure to take a tape measure ...
6'3" and ~170. Medium was proper fit and perfect length. Be sure to take a tape measure and measure per the dimensions on their website.. helped me figure it out. Can't speak to the level of padding, these are my first decent shorts.
