We get a lot of hail in Colorado so I bought one of these covers for my 2018 Subaru Legacy. The alternatives were just too pricey. I can say that it’s very easy to put on and take off, just a couple of minutes for the practiced owner. The cover’s is also well made. Multiple storms and placement/removals and the stitching and fabric seem to be doing well.Keeping an eye on the weather, I threw it on in advance of several storms. The first few times were dime size hail or smaller. Any car would probably not be damaged by that, so I didn’t feel like it was a true test. On 7/31/23, I got it on before getting hit multiple times in one night. The worst of it was about 10 or 15 minutes of Quarter to Golf ball size hail. I could see some hail bouncing off the cover nicely. However, I did incur some hail damage. I guarantee it would have been worse without the cover though. I feel like I’m only saving my insurance company some money because, I still had to file a claim and pay my deductible, but it won’t cost them as much to repair the damage and, the repair should go faster. Is it worth the price? Not for me it wasn’t. If you encounter damaging size hail, your car will likely still be damaged with this cover on it, but less so.

We purchased this cover for acorn and rain protection in California. Things you should know about this cover:1. The neoprene only covers the narrowest part on the top of the car. This leaves the side fenders and doors vulnerable to drops on the sides of the car. The slightest wind will shift the cover and leave the top unprotected as well. I can only imagine how little this protects cars in a windy hailstorm. Even acorns managed to ding our car with this cover on.2. The stitching securing the straps is weak and ripped immediately off the cover. My wife has had to re-sew the straps on twice. One of the plastic buckles broke also.3. The buckles are under the car so be prepared to crawl around to secure them. It would have been better if the straps were heavy-duty and longer so they would go all the way under the cover and over the top to meet each other.4. Cover soaks up water so the car will still get wet and stay wet longer until the thick cover dries. Cover gets moldy because it doesn't dry easily.5. Cover is unwieldy (but not much can be done about that).If you live where there are hailstorms (or acorns) with NO wind, you should be fine with this cover. Next winter, I think I'm going to make my own cover out of camping pads and put a thin better quality car cover over them.

We have a 2014 Cadillac CTS-V and this car cover fits perfect over it. There is plenty of room. I imagine it would fit a slightly larger car as well. It’s easy enough to put on and take off without my husband. It doesn’t weigh a ton, which is nice if don’t have help putting it on. It came in a nice storage bag, which I doubt I will use lol. The top part feels padded. The padded part almost feels like a thick neoprene wetsuit type material. It isn’t super thick, but sufficient for hail here in Texas, I personally think. I would compare the thickness of the padded part to that of a standard cardboard box. It looks, fits and feels as expected. I took pictures of it on my car (from the front and back) and also close up pictures of the materials. I tired to capture how thick the padded part is. The padded part extends over the top of the car. The part that tucks under the bottom of the car feels like a normal car cover that is not padded. I haven’t had it for long so I will update if I have any issues. So far so good. If my original review stands, I have had no issues to note. I feel it’s a little over priced, but it was worth the buy. Because it was pricey, I only gave it 4 stars. It’s not easy to find a padded car cover for hail. This was one of the only ones I could find. Overall I feel like it looks as it does in the pictures advertised. I hope my review was helpful. I would recommend this to family and friends.Also note- the car cover has a strap to strap it to the car. I haven’t used it yet but it looks like it would work fine.
