West System G/Flex 655-1 Epoxy Adhesive Syringe, 1 oz | Quick Repairs

I purchased this adhesive to repair a Z-carbon folding trekking pole, and the product arrived in excellent condition. While the specified working time is five minutes, the actual setting speed may vary depending on the application volume and the two-minute mixing process required by the instructions. I was disappointed to find that no mixing nozzles were included, a detail that was not disclosed in the Amazon product description. Nevertheless, the bond strength is exceptional. Having utilized Loctite and other commercial-grade adhesives, I can confirm this is a reliable product, provided that one is knowledgeable regarding the specific surfaces being bonded.

I was worried when it arrived and said it was for use on plastics, but decided to give it a go anyway to repair the split wood on my couch. I mixed it with the tiniest amount of Eye Candy coloring in a bowl and used a toothpick to carefully place it into the widened crack and knot. I clamped it all together and used painters tape to ensure nothing could drip through the bottom. Then I used a dry paper towel to very carefully wipe all the excess from the wood around the crack. It left a small amount of residue. After a couple of hours I took a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol and removed the residue that remained around the crack, being careful to work fast and not be overly aggressive so as not to remove the original finish on the wood. I let it cure for 24 hours and unclamped everything, and ventured a sit! It's been a week of regular use by 4 adults now and that foot long crack is nearly invisible and is holding perfectly. Tips: 1) This shrinks SLIGHTLY as it dries. You may want to leave the slightest mound on whatever you are filling if you don't want a valley. 2) Cover everything in painters tape (wood, clamps, etc) if you want to be able to pop them loose. Otherwise you may end up permanently attaching a new piece you didn't want. Amount: dispensed maybe 1/3 of the tube for this project. I had a minimal amount left over. The tubes were approximately the length of a hand.

Works very well on multiple materials. Just like the name suggests, it is slightly flexible. Which is much better than being brittle for multiple applications. Dries a light transparent yellow. Can decrease cure time by heating, but this will also decrease the durability of the cured adhesive.

I had trouble trying to patch an inflatable dinghy because regular rubber cement was not sticking to exposed cloth under the rubber. I knew that I would have to use something else to stop the air leak and then patch over that. I sanded the area slightly then used the gflex. I'm very happy. For 11 dollars my problem is solved. I didn't even use a patch. It's holding up fine after a week of sun and rain. Inflatable dinghy owners need to get some today.

We have a whole house water filtration system. It has 2 20" sediment pre-filters. One of them developed a crack around the base that was slowly weeping. As the company (Aquasana - avoid them; they regularly change products and suppliers, and you can't get replacement parts) could not supply a replacement, I bought this epoxy, and, in combination with some fiberglass matting, I "wrapped" the lower 3" with a bandage. So far, it's working a treat.

Works well! Sticks to rotomolded HDPE well enough. I repaired my kayak in the field... but the problem is that this needs 24 hours to cure! If you have that kind of time, you will like this product. I will buy it again, even though I don't love the 24 hour cure time because it does work pretty well on plastic.

Incluso hay video de uno que partieron a la mitad, pegaron las 2 mitades con el producto...y aguantó pruebas muy agresivas sin despegarse. El mío tuvo una fisura en una zona difícil de soldar y al poner este producto quedó sellado sin que ingrese agua. Lo único que me falta corroborar es su duración, que espero sea de muchos años...si algo falla regresaré a actualizar mi reseña.
