Installation was straightforward, it connects great with my wifi with no issue. So far it perform great! It's able to detect motion right away. I like that you can set timers and other settings within the app.

The Kasa line of switches are an excellent choice for upgrading your home to a smart home. They install easily like any switch should. The quality is robust and they look sharp once installed. Each switch comes with everything you need including basic install instructions, connectors, and finish plate. The switches have a night light feature built in to them making them easy to locate and turn on in low light situations. The motion sensor functions perfect and the sensitivity is easily adjustable with the app.Their app is easy to use and has numerous features to automatically control your home. The Kasa line integrates nicely with Tapo products and you can easily control all your cameras and switches from the Tapo app as well.

Installed this a few days ago, so far so good. No issues with the installation, replaced a ‘regular’ kasa smart light switch. This works as expected, though a couple of things that i wish were better:The angle of motion sensing is not as wide as i had hoped - i was thinking it would be closer to 180, but it’s quite a bit narrower. When i’m to the side of the switch or even a bit closer to the middle, it doesn’t see me. Because of that, i’ve had to set it to turn off after a longer amount of time so it doesn’t turn off while i’m in the room but out of its angle (and hope that i’ll move into range before that time is up - it’s my kitchen, so chances are good).Second slight disappointment is that the actual manual switch/button to turn it on or off feels a little kludgy - only the very bottom of the switch toggles, even though the entire lower portion of the switch is a single piece. The very middle of the switch does not depress at all. It’s not very intuitive, and the click action is a bit ‘mushy’ and inconsistent, not a solid satisfying click like the regular kasa rocker or a regular non-smart switch.All in all though, it does what i need it to do well enough so far - saves me a bit of electricity when i forget to turn it off, turns on automatically when i’m walking towards it. Has relatively good flexibility options such as making it manual only, or setting it to motion sense only during certain times. Fit and finish is on par with the kasa switches i have (which is to say pretty good). One thing to note was that it had a harder time connecting to my network than all the other kasa switches i’ve setup - had to restart the switch a couple times to finally connect to it and then be able to join my network, hopefully just a fluke.

I am having my garage renovated (paint on walls, polyurea flooring, recessed lights instead of garage door light only). I wanted something that would trigger the four hardwired recessed lights I had installed when the garage door opened as I am getting read of the chain driven garage door opener and switching over to one that directly turns the torsion rod so I can have a cleaner look on the ceiling where the old garage door opener used to be. I was advised by my electrician to look for an occupancy switch or a wifi switch and this particular one does both! For about $13 this wires into the actual power line that turns the 4 recessed lights on/off and allows me to set the motion sensitivity, time of day it looks for motion, it even offers different environmental settings to give it an idea where it's located on your property. I'm seriously impressed at the suite of features at this price point. I was able to get it to easily connect to my 2.4ghz wifi signal I use for my smarthome devices only (i leave 5ghz+ for personal tech devices) and get my preferred settings all squared away. The default motion sensitivity setting was not strong enough to detect the door opening but I bumped that up to high and now it works flawlessly when the garage door opens. It also allows you to adjust the amount of time you want the light to stay on after it stops detecting motion which was a plus. There seems to be even more settings on there as well if I needed them. Interestingly I found this switch while looking at Homelink's site (I wanted something to be compatible with the Homelink buttons on my car's rearview mirror but it turns out the motion sensitivity works just fine so I won't even attempt to link it to my car).If you're looking for something similar in a garage project this really fit the bill and for a fantastic pricepoint - great job Kasa!

Using this switch for more than a month now.Excellent product for hallways and entryways, helps conserve energy, and specially in a house with multiple stories, you wont have to go downstairs/upstairs just to turn your lights off.Installation is easy, and takes mere minutes. Fits perfectly with the 2-3 slots face plates as shown in the image. Remember to turn off your circuit breaker before installing :-)Wifi connectivity and integration with alexa is hassle-free and reliable as per my observation. I was particularly concerned about the wifi signal as my router is installed at a significant distance and on a different floor.Only issue i have observed, which is a rare occurrence, is that it detects motion without any human presence and turns the light on for the set amount of time. (Not too concerned with that as it happens not more than once or twice a week)
