This is a great light for a younger child. I'd wanted to give our LO another tool to deal with some concerns about the dark and noises. Something to empower, comfort, and entertain. Something to make going to bed and staying in bed more appealing. Something to reduce the shenanigans.This has fit the brief very well. The brightness level is just right for nighttime in bed. Enough illumination to see, but not enough to blind. Probably just enough light to read bybunder the covers. There is a frosted diffuser that helps soften the light, which is a nice feature. Initially, she wasn't a fan of the nightlight aspect, but now she loves that part too. She discovered shadow puppets, mostly on her own, and that's terribly cute. The size is right and she quickly figured out how to make it work. The fact that it is rechargeable and that it does so by plopping it on a charging dock is a big plus and can be easily done by your LO.If I had one wish, it would be for the flashlight to have a timed off feature like the nightlight has. As you might imagine, falling asleep while the flashlight is still on can certainly happen. Yes, you can just pop it back on the charger stand in the morning. But still, an auto off on the flashlight would have been nice. Seems like an oversight to have the nightlight to turn off on a timer, but not the flashlight. Not enough to dock a star though. Two thumbs up and highly recommended.

Our youngest son is almost 5 and has had and adores this flashlight for years — it’s become his most treasured item in the last year or so. It’s such a comfort to him when he goes to bed and he loves to take it on adventures. This flashlight has come pretty much everywhere with us. What I love as a parent: the design (as a designer myself), the not too bright light (perfect for bedtime), the dual purpose, and the charging base that’s so simple my son can do it himself. The batter life is also great — we’ve taken it on 4+ day trips and it goes strong without charging.Ours is on its last leg — it’s super durable but think it’s been dropped too many times — so I’m here to purchase it again. Grateful Boon still makes it!

This is genius for those who are looking for a way for a kid to A. Use the bathroom in the middle of the night with little light B. Have a kid who's scared of the dark but you don't want a really bright light in their room. It's super cute and has a small footprint. It's a little pricey but it works perfects. It's not bright though, so if you're looking for something that stays on all night, this isn't it. I like that though because I want my kid to be okay in the dark. She's able to use the flashlight whenever she gets scared. It's a great little nightlight.

We got this for our almost 3 year old. It seems to hold a great charge. He loves having his own flashlight, and turning the colors on. We had a few nights where he wanted us to leave his light on before I bought this, and he would wake up very early (5-5:30). No more wanting the lights on! It seems pretty hardy. The flashlight seems diffuse, as in not a super focused beam, but still decently bright. I don't have to worry that he's going to blind the 1 year old. I might end up getting a second one for the 1 year old, it's a popular item at bedtime around here.

BEWARE… flashlight caused rash after child fell asleep next to it in bed. At first we loved this night light/flash light. It is not too bright, lightweight and durable. However our toddler fell asleep next to it and even with the automatic 30 min shut off feature she woke up with a bright red rash the in the exact pattern of the small circle lights. I learned that any prolonged exposure to heat, even low heat can cause “toasted skin syndrome”. I decided to see how hot the nightlight side would feel if I held it against my hand. After a few minutes against my skin indefinitely felt the heat and could see how this could cause injury. If you do get this product I strongly recommend you DO NOT let you child keep it in bed when they sleep. I have read so many reviews trying to find a safe light projector for kids rooms. The search continues.

Majorly disappointed. I bought two of these for my sons a couple months ago and the flashlight function on one of them already stopped working. I like that you can have the nightlight stay on and not then off but it really is a shame the one flashlight doesn’t work anymore. My son is very disappointed.

I bought this to use as a nightlight in my daughters room and it’s been great. It brightens up her room without being “in your face” because the colors are soothing and point upwards.My daughter especially likes that it turns into a flashlight. I think it gives her reassurance at night now that she’s a little more leery of the dark. She even plays with it during the day when we go on “adventures” and this thing has been dropped, stepped on, kicked and thrown...and it’s still going strong.Only complaint is that the instructions on how to get the light to stay on all night is unclear; I had to scour the internet. ***FYI, hold the button down until the lights blink three times.

Great product however the instructions leave out a very important step in turning off the factory set sleep timer for the nightlight. To get around the 30 minute shut off timer you have to hold down the power button until the lights flash three times. But you CAN’T put it back on the charging station or the timer will reactivate. It will only stay on all night if you leave it off the charging station.

Bought one for my four year old. She absolutely loves it. She gave it a kiss before going to sleep. Now my six year wants one, so ordering another. Not too bright, great clean aesthetic, love how it shuts off on its own.Thought I would want to be able to select the colour but have changed my mind. The slow change of colour is nice.Hopefully it proves to be robust enough to last.Following up on this review a day short of exactly one year and the lights are proving very robust. My eldest sleeps with it every night in flashlight mode and every night it falls of her bed at least once onto hardwood floor with no problems. Hasn't cracked or stopped working. Flashlight does not automatically shut off like the dot mode and is still going in the morning. Would definitely recommend this product.

We love this! In fact, we loved it so much we bought both kids their own. It casts just enough light to make them comfortable, and I love the timer that turns them off. Highly recommend.

Not as bright as I thought it would be but my son really likes it. Cycles through colours automatically so you cannot control that. Nice that it is able to convert into a flashlight as well.
