The children absolutely loved using these underneath the microscope. In this set, there is such a lot to look at. They work really well and it has everything needed for studies alongside the science National Curriculum. I think this set is great value for money.

So, my 7 year old got a USB microscope, we’d looked at water from the pond and found a few things, some hair from our heads - the usual. He want to see more things - these seem ideal - lots to look at. Will be coming back to them as he delves more into science I’m sure.

Bought these for my son to go with his microscope. For the price you can’t go wrong. Some of the specimens are a little bit rubbish, but there’s so much variety it didn’t really bother me, my son loved it

I bought these as an accompaniment to the children's microscope I bought for my niece. She loved looking at the different slides. I hope this creates interest and curiosity towards sciences in her.

1. Plastik 2. Größe ist nicht Standardgröße, sondern deutlich kleiner. Um die Objektträger auf dem Objekttisch mittels der Halteklammer zu fixieren braucht es einen zweiten Objekträger. OK, 1. und 2. kann man in der Beschreibung lesen, habe ich nicht gemacht; trotzdem ärgerlich. Aber das eigentliche KO-Kriterium ist die Qualität der Präparate. Lieblos ausgewählt, lieblos geschnitten/präpariert und dilettantisch eingebettet. Sehr viele unschöne Lufteinschlüsse und auch viel Dreck, der da miteingebettet wurde. Ich rate vom Kauf ab und empfehle höherwertige, wenn dadurch auch teurere, Präparate. Es hat sich leider wieder einmal bewahrheitet: wer billig kauft, kauft doppelt.

I hoped that this product would help to introduce the use of a microscope. Unfortunately, the staining of cells was poor, slices too thick and the embedding medium produced bubbles and distracting lines. It would be hard to explain to novice users just what they are viewing. They will certainly know what a poor quality microscope slide preparation is from this product. When they eventually view better slides they will be more enthusiastic about pursuing about what a microscope can reveal.

While the slides look great being colour coded and labeled...there are bubbles in the plastic holding the specimen and it ruins the whole experience. Not worth a penny unfortunately.
