I saw some reviews with straps that wouldn't stay attached to the mat and mats that were buckled because the snap was poorly installed. But mine is perfect

Great mat, high quality, tested ~10^7 ohms ptp, stands up to solder well
I've used this for a month or so now and really like it. I tested it (don't possess appropriate Megger setup with weights, but used a quality GM MetraHit) and results point to point all 5 ways and to center were repeatable between 10^6 and 10^8 ohms as it should be on the surface. Ground plugs provided are well secured and the mat seems to stand up to solder drips and hot air rework blasts just fine. Highly recommended.Take a bit to lie flat as some reviews mention, but all high quality mats do, I have worked in industry and implemented ESD controls at a number of companies and this is a good quality mat for the price that would be more than tough than enough for any home use.

Specialised review: the smell is fine
I saw mixed commentary in reviews about scent/smell from the mat, so I asked and got a few answers, one of which was from the manufacturer, to wit:"Yes, they do have a smell but normally when you lay out the mat the smell should go away eventually after a couple of days."For me, it was a couple of _hours_. While I'm not reactive - I just smell certain things very strongly - I do find the chemical/rubber smell pretty hard to deal with. I'm pleased to say this mat is fine. Definitely did have a bit of an "oof" out of the box, but I left it laid out flat on my washing machine for a couple of hours and when I came back, it was just fine.(We do have a HEPA filter next to the washing machine, it was running on low.)So yeah, if my sample is typical, and you're worried about scent / smell issues, you're almost certainly going to be fine with it. I'm currently writing this review at the workbench with this mat and if it weren't for the boxes I've got sitting on the edges pressing out the curl (other reviewers note you need to do this too, but that it works), I wouldn't even know it was there.
