I just recieved my antenna and the adaptor wire is separtated from the connector. How do I get a replacement?

Usually, the connector must be soldered to the cable. It is often left off to make it easier to route the cab le.

What screw-in end type is on the antenna?

The answer depends on the antenna you order. The base/mobile antenna has a PL-259 (plug) that mates to the SO-239 (socket) on the radio. The handheld antennas have either male SMA or female SMA connectors, depending on the selection you make when ordering.

How does this compare to the 771 for best reception?

I’d say a bit better but not worth the extra size and having to extend and take it down, don’t transmit with it folded up bc it’s got a high swr miklor had it at like 7.1
