Bristle Magic Paint Brush Cleaner Bottle, 4-Ounce

After trying many failed vinegar-soaking remedies I have been on the verge of throwing out those art brushes of mine that had awful hardened build-up on them. As a last resort I tried this product and ... It. Works. After soaking a few hours my worst brushes came out with softened bristles. My experience was that while this product softened the build up it did not remove it all the way. I still had to get in between the bristles with a toothbrush and dislodge all the softened crud. Also, the product itself is very oily (or at least oil-like) so take care to wash your brushes thoroughly. That being said, spending a little time dislodging old paint which has been softened is a small price to pay for not having to replace expensive brushes.

This product has probably saved me hundreds of dollars in paint brushes. I am super abusive to my paint brushes, but this stuff works like a miracle. Sometimes it takes a little soaking, and a little scrubbing, but it WILL get the paint off of your brushes, even paint thats been dried on for months. Works for acrylic, oil, and watercolor, as well as different varnishes, sealers, and glues. The only thing it does work well for is leather-type paints. It also may not completely remove the color from the bristles, but the paint will be gone. It leaves my paintbrushes softer and less frayed, even if they dry with the bristles all bent.

I expected paints to come sloughing off, which did not happen. I was about to give up on this stuff, but had let one of my ruined fine detail brushes soak in it a few days just to see. When I took it out and cleaned it, it still seemed hopeless, but I shaped the bristles and put the bursh away anyway. A few days later when I went to paint, I took that brush out, and LO! It was completely restored and good as new. I was quite startled, and pleased. This stuff does seem to work.

This stuff is truly magic. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it! It's a better deal than it seems, too, because you can use it multiple times to get the paint off your brushes. For really caked on dried paint, just soak it in this for a while before you swish it around.

Works really well. Gets the paint off the brushes fast so I can wash them and start over.
