Almost too good to be true
Friends of mine had a very similar stool and fell in love with them. Saw similar stools at a few other stores for double the cost. Was easy to assemble (base, center post & seat - no tools required). Everything was wrapped in plastic & bubble wrap to protect. Was a little nervous from the couple of bad reviews about scratches, but they look perfect. The cost was incredible and you have to love Amazon's lighting fast shipping.

Beware: you get what you pay for... cheap crap
Upon arrival it was clear that the other review of this product is 100% correct.Build quality is inconsistent, cheap, and ultimately results in really ugly crap. If manufactured properly, these would have been very stylish and cool to have in your home....But the metal looks awful and appears to be mis-forged, the wrong screws were included in the package so mounting the seat to the stool was a nightmare, and the pistons don't work (the lever is purely for show). I'm actually worried that beyond just looking awful, they'll end up costing me money in damage due to the poor design, sharp metal edges and shoddy workmanship scratching my cabinets. You get what you pay for... cheap crap.

chair, y u hate me?
I've owned three of these chairs for over two years, so I think I can qualify here as a LexMod LEM Barstool court-certified expert. Here's my review (and you won't believe what happened next):I haven't had any major problems with the bar stools, but there's been plenty of minor little annoyances. These annoyances are culminating to the point where I'm about to retire them all to Craigslist. So where do I begin. It first started with the black plastic ring that sits between the two sliding medal tubes. You can just barely see it in the pictures. The ring kept on falling out causing the two metal tubes to grind against each other when you turn in the seat. You push the ring, it stays up there for a while, then it falls down again and grinds the chrome away like it does to your soul. I eventually fixed it with copious amounts of Krazy Glue. My only regret is that the glue doesn't put my life back together.Second, the bottom metal stand beautifully coated in chrome is scratch-assistant. No, that isn't a typo. I really think it just scratches itself when I'm not looking. You're going to have to acquire the fine nose hairs of the almighty Zeus and then convince Rumplestiltskin to loom together a hand cloth for this thing to not scratch when you're cleaning it.Third, the chair is loud. It started getting mouthy sometime past the year and half mark. Now I can't get it to shut up. It squeaks, creaks, and makes a cacophony of other terrible noises for you. It contagious too, because my sleeping baby hears it, and starts screeching. I tried greasing what I thought was making the noise, but apparently pouring lubricant into an infant's mouth is frowned upon.

Got not one...purchased 4
If you have a modern flair. This is the chair. It is sturdy. Doesnt feel cheap like other brands. The stools arrived in pieces and each individual piece is well packaged, especially with the chrome accent pieces (covered in foam padding and packing paper). Assembly is easy and straightforward. It took me prolly 5 min to assemble one stool. Unique and different from other modern stools. Price is adequate vs. some that are waAAAay too expensive.

Not perfect
One of four had a defective piston an needed to be replaced. Overall the stools are very high quality, solid and nice leather. My three star rating is due to the cheap plastic ring at the base of the post. On a quality product this would be metal to match the rest of the base and stem.

Perfect Bar Stools
I had been looking for modern barstools in black or white that swiveled and had adjustable height. These are perfect! Plus they look great and are comfortable. I thought the low back may be a problem but its not. The vinyl seats are easy to keep clean with a damp cloth. The chrome base can show dust if sunlight hits it a certain way. The white seat is a "bright" white.

Poor Quality
I am sorry to say that I purchased this chair. It started squeaking after about a week, and then it started to wobble. I tried to return the item but could not disassemble the piece so I call customer service who basically told me that I needed more muscles. Then they informed me that I would be responsible for the shipping charges even though the product was poor quality. This shipping charges would for this heavy chair was about $40 from where I am. Buyers if you are looking for a chair that lasts more than 2 weeks, do not buy this one.

Modern and sterdy
We ordered three of these. They are perfect for our home and very easy to put together. They are pretty heavy, but the material seems to scratch easly. Two of them came with small scratches on the chrome parts but it wasnt a big deal. One of them came with a deep scratch that was noticable from a distance, also the seat arrived with a defect. We will be returning one of them and hoping the next one arrives without the scratches or defects. I'm giving it 4 stars because they look great.
