I did not find this book a good read or interesting by any account. Everything mentioned in the book is nothing special that someone can’t tell you in person. Much better books out there

Of all the self-help books I’ve read, this is the one that felt it will actually help. I love the way the author puts it like ‘my goal with this book is to share therapy techniques for those who do not have access to therapy’. She explains different challenges we all have to face and then offers different tips and techniques on how to navigate them. Are there new never-heard-off techniques? Not really. All are things we all know (or at least have heard) but it’s good to see why they work and how they work. Good to have this reminder because change happens through repetition, not ideation.

This book is a must for social living and self management. Just. Worth every page of reading. Explains concepts and gives tools in real life (the age of social media) timeframe. Dr. Julie is just amazing at explaining and presenting the info in a way that you find it easy to read, informative and applicable.

This is not your typical self help book, it’s written by a therapist who shares the tools she actually uses in the therapy room with her clients. Things that actually work - and what doesn’t. For someone who doesn’t have the time or the money to go to therapy, or just wondering how to better understand and live with their emotions, this book is a must read.

This book feels like a long, warm hug in the chilling winters, a shoulder you can cry on, your therapist, your friend, all in one. I don't usually engage with self-help books, but the journal prompts and the psychological aspects changed my mindset for this one. This book provides all the necessary details that should've been told to you beforehand. There's guidance, support and a healing energy radiating from this book. Amazing read!
