This device works surprisingly well. It literally creates mosquito-free bubble on your deck within 15 minutes. I love that I don't have to spray smelly chemicals on my family to enjoy being outside. We take it with us on picnics and vacations too since it's cordless (runs on a tiny butane cartridge), so we know we can use it basically anywhere. The only negative is that if there is a strong breeze, it will carry the repellent out of the space you need it to work in.

I tried a lot of things to solve the mosquito problem on our patio, but this is the first one that actually worked, eliminating the "no-see-um" mosquitoes that have tormented me. I turn it on each morning while making coffee, then go out with the dog and set it on the floor at my feet, and enjoy God's beautiful creation. My legs used to be covered in bites, but no more. It has worked flawlessly for 4 years. It just stopped working so I called the company with the details and they said I did everything right and so they are sending me a replacement. I was blown away. It's 4 years old! Now that's great customer service. Highly recommended for anyone living in mosquito country.

I bought this and initially had problems starting it but thought it was user error. It would eventually stop working 2 weeks later which was a disappointment because it really does keep the mosquitoes away. I reached out to thermacall customer support and they had a new one out to me within a week as it turnout the device was defective. The new one lights WAY easier and still works like a charm. Would absolutely buy more products.

Worth every penny. Really keeps the bugs away. Use it on the deck and cover a decent area. I usually keep it on the deck table and keeps the bugs away. Not sure if it'll cover beyond the 5-10 ft range i use but happy to have it. I bought some refills after using it a few times.

I didn't get this item for free, so you can trust that my review is solid. Mosquitos are pretty picky about who they prey upon. They prefer a particular scent and blood chemistry which is why I can understand why the reviews range from "didn't work" to "changed my life." Let's face it - when you're in an area where mosquitos are so thick that you can hear them buzzing and watch them landing on your skin, you should just go inside. Not much is going to save you. However, if you're like me and your skin lights up with a neon sign for the mosquitos (and you are the ONLY one they're biting in a group), you're happy to try just about anything that will keep them away from you. My husband bought this Thermacell Repeller so I would stop complaining. I still haven't stopped complaining (sorry, honey), but I have stopped flapping my gums about mosquitos. We put this Repeller out on our porch during the beginning of summer, before the mosquitos were really out and about. About mid-summer I started telling my health care provider (and all of my friends) that I must be going through menopause early or having some major blood chemistry change, because mosquitos were no longer seeking me out of a group. As long as we were outside around our home, I just wasn't getting a bite. It was miraculous and beautiful. Then we went to a friend's house. Ouch. They were all over me again. It took me a while to realize (yeah, I'm a little slow) that the reason I wasn't getting bit at home was because my husband had lit the Thermacell each time we were outside. I honestly didn't even realize it was on and running. It doesn't make noise, doesn't product a smell, and doesn't really take up any room at all. Pretty dang amazing. We went through 3 scent pads this summer and one fill of butane and it keeps on going. It's easy to throw in a bag and take anywhere with us. Most everyone who visited this summer has purchased one. I advise you do the same if you're a mosquito magnet like me. It really is a game changer.

15 ft. Zone is pure BS. I live at 5400ft above sea level here in Arizona's high country and while this will chase the little blood sucking flies off along with other pesky bugs, the 15 foot zone is pure BS... not true. Then they claim the repellant mats will last 4 hours...again, pure BS. Maybe 2 hours out on the porch. Replaced my 4 year old thermacells with new ones due to the strikers wearing out. The new ones burn through a mat in 2 hours. The new ones are temperamental and have to to ignited multiple times before they'll stay lit. Bottom line; yes, they do repell mosquitoes and other pests but not 15 feet radius. More like a 3 foot radius. They're very expensive and get used up fast causing you to keep paying big bucks to repel the little blood suckered but they do work. Just not as advertised. Be prepared to restocking often.

Be aware, the manufacturer has cheapened the product by NO LONGER SUPPLYING THE WEATHERPROOF CAP. The device is the same and works fine but now you can't leave it out on the deck. Photo shows my old orange one and the new blue one with the extra old orange cap I saved from the one I tossed. It still fits but looks like crap. Honestly, what could this cap cost? A few pennies saved for the maker, a constant pain for the user.

The good news is that the thing really works well with mosquitoes. Two things not so hot. I didn't time it specifically, but while the liquid tank mounted in the bottom lasts for a good while, the insert at the top doesn't, and in any case I don't think the protection lasts as long as advertised. Meanwhile mine stopped working after about ten uses this summer. It's cheap so I'm going to buy a new one and hope for better.
