Good ride, compact, low price.
I've had one of these for about a week, and here are my thoughts: 24" blades a little on the small end for a rider, but it has a good turning radius and low price. There's a slight jerkiness when you let off the brake and get going, but the overall ride is smooth. The number of levers you have to maneuver is a bit cumbersome (press the brake, shift to forward under your seat, set your speed at the bottom of the steering column, lower the blades to the right of your seat, release the brake). It's more complicated than driving a car. I wish it had a slightly larger fuel tank. I have a lot size of about 0.4 acres, and I needed to refill in the middle. I have not had any problems starting the machine. Overall I would say this mower is a good step up from a walk-behind if you have a property less than 0.6 acres. Nice compact size and low price. Larger lawns should probably step up to the 42" models.

No Better 24 inch Rider Mower
Even tho I did a mod or 2, this is one tuff rider mower. I have used and abused it for more than a year now.The F&R lever was too short for comfort, so I lengthened it 4 inches......what a difference !The starting for the B&S a little tricky. Spin it for 5 seconds, then wait 1 minute and try to start again. If this fails, do the same again, it will start on 2nd or 3rd time depending how long it set.The rack and pinion a little loose from the factory, but easily tightened up if you experienced w/ mechanicsBe careful when going up a steep hill, it has enough power to flip up over backwards,.....I was hurt worse than the mower, but neither of us real bad !!I mowed out a 100' x 400' blackberry bush grove 6' high by just charging into it, killing the engine many many times. I am telling you, you just cannot hurt this mower,.......I am really impressed, specially for the $795 amount I spent for this very good mower.I have sharpened the blade so many times (a lot of gravel here) that I have a new blade on order. The star hole blade is easy to R&R.The only major thing that would improve this mower is if it has a hydastatic drive, but then it would cost $400 more.
