I bought this rear lift assist device for my senior Great Dane. Product arrived on time and was as advertised.I looked at several different sling type devices and found this one to be the best thought out product of the am all. It is made of quality material and is very comfortable for my old girl. You won’t be sorry you invested in this item.

This is our second purchase because we sadly misplaced our original. We purchased the original during our first TPLO recovery and it was the best move we made. We unfortunately needed it for several more recoveries and it always made the recovery safe for us and our pups. Great product!!

Our dog is a 65 pound female lab/staffy terrier mix. She had cruciate ccl surgery 13 days ago. The surgeon sent her home with a standard flimsy sling, about 5.5 inches wide straight across, straps too long for us. It was awkward for us to use, and after the 5th day when she was feeling better, she could almost drag us. I thought I might actually take a fall myself! So I ordered this sling, and I wish I’d had it from the start. The surgeon charged $47 for his sling. I paid $65 for this one, but it is thicker, so much sturdier and way easier to control. I should have pre-ordered this one and not paid for theirs. After reading many reviews here, I chose the Tall Male. Again, our dog is a 65lb female, lean and muscular. Her back is 25 inches high from the ground. All four of us are on the shorter side between 5’1” - 5’5”. So the shorter straps on the Tall Male sling were just right for us. The male sling has the scoop cutout where it measures 5” right at the cutout. With our dogs barrel chest, the sling tends to scoot back, so the scoop cut out on the male sling (which is considered unisex anyway) actually adapted better to her. I also like the lead strap you can attach to your own collar or harness for better control. I have not yet added on the stay on velcro straps that help keep the sling from coming down as you let go of it, so I cannot speak to that. In the picture you have an idea. Those straps can still be be taken in more, and it’s comfortable for all of us to manage. If you have a strong energetic dog, I would highly recommend this sling, and have it ready before a surgery. This is my second try. First order, I thought it was the size. The company suggested a different size. I ordered that and yes, it was a better fit but again, just not for my dog. She is 14.5 years old with severe hip and spine problems. She bumbles, stumbles and tumbles frequently. But she loves her walks and always manages to show up wanting to walk with the other dogs, even if it’s just a short distance. She also has some cognitive issues. The sling confuses her. It causes her to turn sideways as it confuses her and which way she is being led. We have repeatedly tried it on her using suggestions from the company and others. It becomes more of an effort than an advantage. Since we used it multiple times and it was a fail, I felt uncomfortable returning. The sling is very well made and sounds like it has been a great success for other but just confuses my old girl. Sadly, it was a waste of money for us. Had high hopes.
