Does what it's supposed to do.
Much much better than the traditional 3 piece metal filters that come with a french press.

Perfect fit, perfect function! When the screen on my portable press was ruined, it seemed a waste to throw out the rest of the unit. All I needed was a replacement press plate. This fits and works as well as the original - so glad, love my portable Bodum!!!

Not as good as the original
Unlike the original filter it’s a bit flimsy not likely to last as long as the original but it works well enough to keep it. I don’t see the Bodum brand name on it.Update to my review.When I received this filter, I started my doubts that it would last long. After less than one year of daily use the flimsy silicon filter seal is ripping apart. I truly doubt this is a genuine Bodum product because of its poor quality. I’m glad I kept the original filter and after ten years and despite showing its age, I’m going back to using it again.
