The Cisco Firepower 1010 can run ASDM or FTD software. For the ASDM software, you have the option to choose which license to use and most of them are free. Firstly make sure you have linked your device with your Cisco Smart Software License account. Licenses are as follows:

Standard license—L-FPR1000-ASA=. The Standard license is free, but you still need to add it to your Smart Software Licensing account.

Security Plus license—L-FPR1010-SEC-PL=. The Security Plus license enables failover.

Strong Encryption (3DES/AES) license—L-FPR1K-ENC-K9=. This license is free. Although this license is not generally rquired (for example, ASAs that use older Satellite Server versions (pre-2.3.0) require this license), you should still add it to your account for tracking purposes.

Anyconnect—See the Cisco AnyConnect Ordering Guide. (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/anyconnect-og.html) You do not enable this license directly in the ASA.

If you use FTD software there is no specific licensing for enabling Firepower Threat Defense VPN.
