Apple and Pear Slicer - Corer

This apple cutter is nearly perfect and is the exact same one I have been using for over a decade (still works fine). Very sturdy, sharp and works with even large apples. Even if your apple is slightly larger, this cutter will power through if you can. The blades are thick and will not flex. All Stainless Steel and made in USA.

I am giving this item 5 starts right off. I have only used it on a few apples so far, but I will say that the quality is great. The blades are quite thin, sturdy and sharp. Apples cut through easily and I have had my 10 year old try it as well. She was able to get right through. For me, another bonus was that is made in the US!!!

This works great on medium to small apples, but I got hold of some very large Washington Fuji's a couple weeks ago and it wasn't quite big enough. That doesn't happen very often though. Construction is very good and it is Made in USA. It will work on 95% of the apples you eat. I had an apple and pear slicer that was made in China and the plastic handles broke off. This is a very sturdy kitchen tool that turns an apple into eight wedges. It's very sturdy/well-made and it's made in the USA!

This is built old school. The item we received was exactly the item pictured, same packaging etc. (see pics).We were concerned because some of the comments here mentioned a cheaper china made slicer being sent. We bought from E&BEssentials here on Amazon and I actually received the product the next day! Awesome Slicer and what I like best is that it is made in the USA!

This is a perfectly fine corer/slicer, and I was happy to buy one that had been made in the US. But a prospective buyer should know that it is very heavy going to slice a large piece of fruit, and if the circumference of the apple exceeds that of the slicer—well, too bad. Best for the older varieties that are moderate in size and whose flesh is a little more yielding.

Given the price, I expected the handle to be slightly heavier with a more gentle edge, but it is comfortable to handle. The blades are very sharp and cut through a large Fuji apple readily. It leaves a nice, round core that is generally wide enough without being wasteful. The package specifies that the *blades* are stainless. The handle appears to be chromed. This device should perform well practically forever.
