Robust and tasty.
Robust and tasty. This has such a good flavor. We used this in our yearly 30 day Daniel Fast and it was by far the best tasting sauce with no additives.

Zesty and yum !
Delicious sauce for so many things. I use it on my sautéed healthy dishes and plant based meals for a nice hearty yet lite taste ! Much tastier than a Marinara !

Affordable Shakshuka sauce that tastes pretty good!
My husband and I eat eggs with a Shakshuka sauce (and crumbled feta) as our "go to" dinner when we don't have time to cook another meal. In less than 10 minutes, we can have a filling and nutritious dinner that tastes a hundred times better than any frozen meal, and is much healthier than any takeout meal.Based on a friend's recommendation, the first Shakshuka sauce we tried was a Trader Joe's frozen version. It was love at first bite, although we felt we needed to spice it up a bit (just our personal preference for hot, spicy foods). However, like many other of our former favorite foods with the Trader Joe's label, our beloved frozen Shakshuka sauce ended up being discontinued. Fortunately, one of the friendly and helpful TJ's associates recommended a good substitution - namely, their jarred Spicy Tomato & Pepper Sauce. Phew, crisis averted, we were back in business! In fact, we preferred the jarred sauce to the frozen sauce because it had a bigger spicy kick to it.But alas, our love affair with TJ's Spicy Tomato & Pepper Sauce didn't last for very long, because this product was also discontinued. Trader Joe's no longer offered Shakshuka sauce or its equivalent and we were devastated!I searched and searched for a new ready-made Shakshuka sauce. While you may be thinking that there are a ton of recipes on the internet which have got to be better tasting than a jarred or frozen version, you need to bear in mind that Shakshuka is our version of "fast food."Eventually, I came across Mina jarred Shakshuka sauce but found the price per 16 oz. to be too high (over 3x the amount of the TJ's sauce!). Thankfully, I then discovered this 9.2 lb. plastic jug size which is a lot more economical.I noticed several reviewers who felt that the Mina brand Shakshuka in the small glass jars tasted better than the contents of the big plastic jugs. And at first, I felt that this sauce was just meh. It seemed overly acidic and somewhat bland, especially as compared to the spicy TJ's sauce we had been spoiled by. But by the end of the first jug, I guess I got used to it, and now we go through a few jugs a month. We definitely feel the need to spice it up some, but other than that, it's the perfect meal for us to make in a few minutes on the stovetop. In considering the taste of this product along with its cost, I would rate it as 4 stars.

Tasty and simple shakshuka
This makes creating a shakshuka meal easy. Just cut some red pepper, dice some onion and simmer till translucent. Add minced garlic and the sauce until it boils. Add eggs to poach in the sauce while reducing the heat and in 6 or 7 minutes, you'll have very tasty shakshuka. Add some of your favorite hot sauce and serve with bread to gather up the sauce. Great quick meal.

Fish bones?
Okay, there is no fish in this stuff, but skinny hard slivers stick in your teeth. I need to help understand what they are. I suspect it's some kind of seed but it's disconcerting to dig the slivers out of your teeth a day later. The taste is wonderful though, much better than the usual tomato sauces, it's so much more rich and complex.

Great sauce
We bought this to replace another spicy Moroccan tomato sauce we use on salmon. It was a great alternative. Perfect for what we needed to enhance our dish!
