Beautiful Symmetry – A Coloring Book about Math (The MIT Press)

I wish I'd have gone for the much cheaper symmetry colouring book.I was expecting lots of patterns to colour in as well as some information about symmetrical patterns. Not much of the former I'm afraid.Also, if you use felt tip pens the colour comes through the other side. I've tried two sets of quality colouring pens and it does it on both of them. Very disappointing overall and I feel it is not worth the money.

This is NOT a colouring book, it is a maths book about patterns. I was expecting pages similar to the front cover to colour in with some text on the maths behind it. The picture on the cover does not exist in this book....there are about a dozen pages from 140 with tiny repeating patterns you could colour in but that is it, the rest of the book is maths text and calculations.

A good mentally stimulating & creative book!

Amazing! Both pedagogically compelling and educational. Great for all ages and for folks approaching from different levels of mathematics. Would recommend to almost anyone, whether they are looking for a coloring book, a math refresher, or a new way to learn.

My favorite coloring book of the year. I love to learn the concept in math and think which part and what color before coloring, when rotating, reflecting, transforming the shapes. Hope the author writes more book on Symmetry.
