Perfect Gift For Computer Geeks - Purchased For My 28 Year Old Son - Make Sure Your Surprise Gift Is Not Spoiled!
Bought this of for my 28 year old son, for Christmas. We had just watched the movie and thought this little guy was so cute! He bugged me about what his gift was, trying to guess and I had so much fun teasing him about it! He kept trying to get me to give him hints, etc. I thought he would never guess and it would be a total surprise, at Christmas. I couldn't wait!Well, my surprise was ruined, when he checked his history for something on his darned IPhone and saw this. He came in, so cleverly...and so smug...I was so upset! At the iPhone, not him. I just got it and told him to open it, then. I then purchased another 'surprise' gift...or will it be?! I am very upset that what I order on my Mac laptop gets to his iPhone. Amazon connection? I must figure out how to stop this from happening!Anyway, he loved it and so did I! This little guy is so adorable! He had to figure out the switches at first and then all was well. The only thing that he was disappointed about was it didn't play, Hooked on a Feeling... ooo-ga-chocka...oo-ga-chocka.... I have to admit, I like it better than the BJ Thomas version! No problem though, he put it on his audio system and Groot danced to that! I couldn't believe It was so balanced, with the movement. It pauses for a second, periodically, while dancing and my perfectionist son made the comment, that it would be better if he moved totally, smoothly throughout. I told him I could not afford that kind of robot. My son is Graphic Designer and Animator, so spends lots of time on the computer. I have always told him he needs something with real eyes to look back at him, rather than a computer screen! This isn't exactly what I had in mind, but he does have eyes, he's tangible and he's not flat! My son has Groot sitting on his computer desk, facing him. Successful, ruined surprise!

And apparently easily entertained. The sound is reasonable and there are ...
This is a simple toy. It's not something to entertain a modern child with for more than a few minutes, not even enough time to go through the demo batteries. He isn't all that interactive and stays in music detect mode less than 3 minutes. Getting it out of the the box will take longer by far. But. I'm not a kid. And apparently easily entertained. The sound is reasonable and there are a few song bites from the soundtrack. I have had no problems getting him to pick up sound even from some distance. He dances to my terrible singing. Gotta love that. His arms are poseable, moving like most action figures, up, down and some lateral movement. The eyes light up and he speaks. He has a shutoff switch to save battery life. The bottom half of the body slides across surfaces and will eventually find the edge. Something to watch for since I doubt he bounces well. All that being said...I think this little guy is absolutely adorable. He is now Guardian of the Residence and shows up all over the house, much like that little Christmas elf. I may even end up making him clothes. And every Baby Groot needs his own mini teddy bear from the craft store. This has been goofy and fun for me and well worth having around.I AM GROOT!

Very cute and works fine.
So cute! And works fine. External music mode is a little tricky (instructions aren't clear (the hold the button down part and the 15 seconds part are actually two unrelated things not two steps in the same process (took me a bit to figure that out, maybe I'm slow))), but once you figure out what works, it works every time. It isn't supposed to be 'always listening' and start dancing every time music is played, you have to set it off (which I happen to think is a good thing, I don't want to constantly be replacing the batteries). I think some of the people who wrote bad reviews either didn't read the instructions at all or didn't take a moment to understand them (one of them didn't even bother to open the packaging, not sure how you have the stones to review something you didn't even take out of the box). Or they got a bad unit and can't be bothered to get it replaced. The 'loose head' is what sells the dancing movement, if it didn't move freely he'd look weird. Assuming a dancing tree toddler isn't inherently weird.

Great gift item
Great price got it on sale but was in good condition it functions fine though the speaker volume is a little low but not so low as to lower the value considering the sale price i purchased it at. Though i could imagine it being an issue at its regular price all in all a good item.

Fun for the Kiddo
This is all my daughter would tell Santa she wanted for Christmas after watching Guardian's of the Galaxy 2. So, "Santa" brought it for her and she was so excited. It is fun and dances to the music. The included songs get a little annoying when you hear them over and over and over again, but they're only young once, right?!

I would have liked to have just turned on a switch and have ...
He is cute. He does dance. My problem is he only dances for about two minutes than shuts off.. you have to keep pushing his leaf to get him to dance for 15 seconds. I thought for the amount of money he would be more... I think if he is to be animated, it should last more than 2 and half minutes and WHY TURN HIMSELF OFF AFTER THAT 2.5 MINUTES ARE UP AND REQUIRED A 15 SEC HOLDING DOWN A LEAF TO ACTIVATE HIM AGAIN? .. I would have liked to have just turned on a switch and have him dancing along with the radio as I worked on the computer. NOT POSSIBLE.. So, although he is cute, and does dance he is not worth the $30 bucks...

Bueno para la colección
A mi sobrina le encanta cuando baila al ritmo de la música, lo ha tirado algunas veces y sigue funcionando igual que cuando se compró, así que la calidad es excelente.

Love him!
Put groot away for a Christmas gift, he’s super cute and will be loved for years to come! Wish I got him on sale though, paid full price and then he went on sale the next week, can’t get the difference back without sending him back to amazon which seems silly.

Just too good to be true
This Dancing Baby Groot is fantastic you really do feel like you have a part of the film in your home. There are some very expensive replicas coming out but to be honest this little guy is perfect and very realistic. Everyone who has met him fell in love :) So much fun, even my cats love him. Easy to set up has some demos, says I am Groot and dances to all your music. Great price and arrived really quickly. He certainly brings a smile to my face every day.
