HSK 1 Chinese Writing Workbook: Master Reading and Writing of Hanzi Characters with this Mandarin Chinese Workbook for Beginners

Basic and great
This is what it claims to be—a workbook, which concentrates on writing the Chinese characters, and it's exactly what I wanted. Each page has two characters. There's a short definition of the character and the pronunciation. Then, it's all about writing.A grid of 72 boxes follows, the first of which introduce the character stroke by stroke. A lighter grid, which divides each box into four quadrants, helps to learn the exact stroke form. Each page is so designed that it can be cutout and copied, too, for further practice. After the 174 characters are introduced, there are around 15 pages of more writing practice on basic combinations, including a few sentences at the end. The last pages hold two-sided flashcards, which can be cut out and used to aide in memorization, which I didn't use.My only small criticism is that while the pages can be removed and flashcards can be made, it needs to be cutout since nothing is perforated. Also, the flashcards will need to be measured first to ensure sizing, since these aren't lined for cutting aide (but as said, I didn't use these anyway)I am completely satisfied with this book, though, and am writing away!

Overall good
The flash cards are for individual characters rather than words, which i don’t find helpful for learning. I found a mistake in the stroke order for one of the characters in the book (cai4). However the spaces provided are good and overall the book is helpful, just be sure to check stroke order online and to learn the actual words by another method, not only the characters separately

Needs a decent index
This book needs a decent index. There are two chacters per page and the order in which they appear is inexplicable. Words are not grouped by grammar, in a pedagogical order (I, you, hello..) or by radicals (the first character is de, the possessive suffix, followed by ye (one)

Nice for flashcards
I did like the pages that you cut into flashcards. I did laminate them because the paper would not hold up long otherwise. The how to pages have smaller pictures so it can be harder to see clearly which direction the strokes go in.

Horrible Irrelevant Wrong Meanings
99% of the characters here, do not have the meaning they have in HSK 1 official book. You will get confused and angry.Do not buy it for learning the meaning. And character sheet is easily found in internet. Therefore, you do not nees this book at all.
