Kokuyo D Shaped Soft Ring Notebook, 6mm ruled w/dot-lines, 29 Lines, 50 Sheets, A5, Black (SU-SV331BT-D), Set of 2

First off, I only wish this had numbered pages and a table of contents/front index, but I can easily add those myself. It's too bad Kokuyo's Soft Ring notebooks aren't everywhere and easily found in the U.S. The type in this listing is, from what I could figure out, the early version of their Soft Ring notebooks without perforations, 50 sheets each. This listing sells them in pairs, but because these are imports, they cost about twice as much as they should. I like the A5 size for taking meeting and conference notes, but for school students, the larger B5 size would be better.If you want a true lay-flat paper solution and maximum use of the paper surfaces, your choices are ring/spiral-bound notebooks and loose-leaf binders. If you want a true lay-flat note paper solution that doesn't take up 2.5 times the desk space, your only choice is the ring/spiral notebook (exception: Kokuyo Campus Smart Ring Binder Notebook). Any sewn or glued binding notebook needs you to either smooth down the next page or weigh it down, and you can't fold back sewn/glue-bound notebook naturally to save space. And top-bound pads won't let you use the opposite side of a sheet. So we're down to the classic spiral-bound notebooks we used in classes forever, but we know their weaknesses: The metal binding got bent so easily, the paper would escape the ends of the spiral, the whole thing just got beaten up in your bag, and writing to the spine edge on verso while right-handed (or recto while left-handed) is a pain with that metal digging into your hand.Kokuyo solved all of those issues with their Soft Ring design, which is a soft plastic ring binding that never gets permanently bent out of shape and doesn't poke your hand. You can crush it in your bag among other things and it'll come out fine. Moreover, the paper quality is quite smooth compared to our usual Mead and legal/junior legal pads; I don't know if it's fountain pen friendly, but it's definitely a higher quality paper, very light cream in color. The "dot line" ruling is quite interesting, definitely light and not overpowering. Personally, I prefer outline notes, which benefit from even indenting, so I tend to favor graph paper. But the small dots embedded in the fine ruling make for nice visual guides without being a potentially overpowering grid (especially for pencil)--brilliant.NOTE: The newer versions of the Soft Ring notebooks are on Amazon Japan, but they may not ship these globally.

I love Kokuyo’s notebooks and these little ones did not disappoint me. They have the dotted line rule found in many of their Campus line notebooks. These are not very thick notebooks, only having 50 sheets per notebook. The rule on these is 6mm dotted with 29 lines per page. The soft rings are durable and won’t damage other things in your bag. The paper is beautifully smooth. It is worth nothing the pages are NOT perforated though. These are a great purchase for someone looking for some A5 notebooks. I got these because in past experience Kokuyo’s papers plays well with my fountain pens (Lamy Al-Star inked with Diamine inks). Treat yourself to some nice notebooks and make your notes more enjoyable with these!

Love these notebooks. The soft rings don't unwind, get crushed, or turn into a stabbing hazard. The paper feels nice and the dotted lines are really useful. I took a star off because amazon is always bad at shipping books/spirals. The corners or spines always come damaged.

The item was received in a timely manner and was as it was described. I have no major complaints at this time.

This light, flexible, soft-ring notebooks is wonderful. The paper is of fantastic quality, very smooth to write on. I use gel pens and there is no skipping and the colors are vibrant on the page. The pages do not snag on the soft rings and I've ordered several more in this size and the next size up in blue because I love them so much.

The soft binding is great for lefties! It also doesn't come apart like wire bindings.The dot marked lines make it perfect for quickly, and consistently sectioning pages with lines, e.g. for bullet journaling or whatever else. The paper quality is very nice.

These are great! My brother bought me one when he was in Japan and I loved it so much. I wanted more but I couldn't find them anywhere until I found these. This was a good price for a pack of 2. They are great quality - I love how my pens write on the paper and the size is perfect. These are not large notebooks but they aren't too small, either. I shove mine in purses and backpacks and the covers still hold up.

I really love the soft rings. They don't make my left wrist ache after writing for ages.

Great product but it took a couple of weeks to ship which was a bummer but it’s was worth it

The squishy rings make it effortless to write in this notebook regardless of which hand you write with. I'm left handed and usually find it difficult avoiding metal rings on regular notebooks.I found these in Tokyo when I was there a few years ago, and they are the only notebook I use now

Die beiden Blöcke sind sicher und ohne Maken bei mir angekommen. Sie sehen auf den ersten Blick sehr hochwertig aus und sind sehr schlicht. Das Papier ist typisch für das Campus Papier von guter Qualität, sie sind sehr glatt und man kann super mit Gelschreibern darauf schreiben. Die Gelstifte trocknen hierauf auch richtig schnell.Die Ringe sind aus Gummi und können problemlos gedrückt werden ohne, dass es beim Schreiben nervt. Häufig hört man, dass es gerade für Linkshänder optimal ist, aber wenn ich auf der Rückseite eines Blockblattes schreiben möchte, kommen mir die Ringe auch immer in die Quere.Die Blöcke haben auch eine sehr angenehme Größe, nicht zu klein und nicht zu groß, einfach was dazwischen.Was ich wirklich schade finde, ist dass man sie nicht in anderen Farbvarianten kaufen kann. Wirklich, wirklich schade. Zumal sie auch sehr selten angeboten werden und dass dann auch für einen einigermaßen angemessenen Preis.

右利きの場合、リングノートの左ページ内・右側が書きにくかったりします。本製品は、ソフトリングであることによって、その悩みがほぼ無くなりました！これからもこのリングノートを使い続けたいと思います。
