Came just as advertised perfect fit and finish easy to install.

Same as the M car start/stop button with same text and font. Higher density plastic so light doesn’t come through as well as original, but there’s plenty of light elsewhere so it’s not a problem. The sticky blob doesn’t work so well in the cold to lift the original button, so pick a warm day and it works just fine.

Really nice quality replacement. Fit was perfect and putty was all that was needed to remove the button. Make sure you spread the putty as much as you can to cover the full button then pull up fast.

This red engine start button does look good after I installed it. I like the matching letters with the OEM ones. The light behind the button does light up the letters but it’s very faint. The red color on the button is not glossy but more of a matted finish. I do prefer the matted finish. I knocked off some stars in my review for a few good reasons. The button did not come with instructions. I watched the video clip in the listing to see how to install it. The steps to take to remove the button looked easy but the yanking part looked scary from the get-go. I tried it anyways. Make sure to spread the puddy all the way to the edge of the button not just the center. It took me five yanks before the button came out. I was so afraid that something would break and something did break. BMW parts are very expensive to fix. After the button came out, I noticed one of the clips was broken. I was so upset that this had happened. I examined how the clips held the button in place and yanking it out with the putty was really a bad idea. The three clips should be pulled out slightly to the sides to allow that button to be pulled up to be removed. This would require the removal of some of the center console panels. One other thing that I didn’t like with this button was that it does not sit flush with the surrounding paneling. The right side of the button sits slightly higher. It’s not noticeable when I look at it from the top until i look at it up close. From a distance I could not tell. Now that the red start button is installed, if I ever wanted to remove it again, I would take the time to remove the surrounding panels to get to the side clips to avoid breaking something again.

The old button came out after 3 tries with the sticky putty. Installed the new red button very easily and it works and looks great.

Pros: The lettering is exactly like the factory OEM button. Perfect fit. Appears to be good quality.Cons: The light does not pass through as good as the OEM.Key question: will the painted surface hold up over time.

This was so easy to replace. Seriously took 1 mins to pull out and pop new one in. Looks so much better.

It fits perfectly and still be able to be illuminated.
