Some of the best crime writing
I've read all of Corbett's books. He's such a good writer, I sometimes have to stop reading because I'm sobbing uncontrollably while reading these stories. He's a writer of vulnerable characters. He writes of ethics and politics and war in our mad, violent world, yet the anguish--the personal anguish--is always expressed. How do we bear the horrors of this world? As a would-be writer, and passionate crime reader, he just knocks me out.

Nice collection
Corbett knows his stuff. This is a neat collection of stories. Well written with a deft touch for timelines and including one short-short even Fredrick Brown, king of the short-shorts, would love.
