What am i missing? absolutely love this jig. but kreg 3/8” plugs drop right in the holes and are too small?

May want check the diameter with calipers on the plugs and the bit you’re using

1.5 to 1.5 board and 2.5 screw goes about .5 inches through to far. where can i find a screw lenth guide?

Having a similar issue here. Connecting 1-1/2" thick stock, so I'm setting the depth slider at 1-1/2" and then adjusting the drill bit collar using the provided spacer card. My Kreg pocket hole jig says that I should use 2-1/4" screws for this thickness of wood. The result is screws that protrude about 1" out the side of my workpiece. Am I missing something?

Has the tolerance issue with the guides been addressed on the newly manufactured jigs?

I, personally, never experienced tolerance issues with this jig. Thus, if I have a, new model, the issue is resolved. Or, the tolerance issue was something of an aberration or it is a possibility some users were not accurately checking their bit sizes. Many users, sad to say, use metric sizes v SAE and this can certainly cause tolerance issues.

Aluminum with steel inserts. I've used the Kreg jig and it doesn't compare.
