Learning Chinese Characters Volume 1: The Characters and Vocabulary You Need to Learn! (HSK Level 1 & AP Exam Prep Workbook)

Perfect Book for Beginners
Some characters you should look up for more accurate grammar and understanding, I recommend the Pleco app for iOS, unsure about Android), but overall the pacing and organization of the book is awesome! I have a couple more chapters left and am buying the second volume after I post this! This book, Pleco, and ChatGPT/DeepSeek are the holy trinity for learning Chinese. If you’re thinking about buying this, do it!!! Plus the price point is perfect.

So helpful! Great for beginners!
I started to learn Chinese 2 years ago but stopped for a bit so I used this as a refresher. It’s been so helpful for learning how to properly write (stroke order), crafting my own sentences, speaking, and recognizing characters. I’m almost done and feel like I have a much better grasp of Mandarin and how to write!

Good for learning stroke order and very basic characters
This book is a good introduction to learning to write Mandarin Chinese Characters. It does not provide much practice space however because it only gives you 8 small blocks to practice the character. They are small so that makes things even trickier.

Fun and Helpful!
This workbook is like so good omg. It’s the perfect starter book if you’re looking to learn Mandarin Chinese! I just love how the book is organized and structured. There’s a lot of spaces to practice your writing and there’s examples to learn off of. The practice questions are also straightforward, helps in sentence structure, and is a good review tool. Overall, great workbook!

Great for learning - Thank you for making it available.
A few months ago, I decided to learn a new language. The deal is, some of that new language crosses over into Chinese - there's similarities in pronunciation. So, I purchased this to help me quickly reference/refer and help keep me focused. This way I can learn about the similarities, and differences, and (hopefully) build the language skills more effectively.

Very good
I am a serious learner but I’m not trying to learn handwriting. I bought this book because I wanted to learn more characters and wanted to see how they are made so I was going to be able to understand a character when I see it for the first time. Well, it is harder than I thought lol but I still love the book because it helped to improve my vocabulary a lot.

good for writing and reading
I have been learning chinese for a year now and i think book is good to practice writing chinese mostly. The practice questions are also helpful but if you really want to get into chinese you should invest in a teacher. If not then this book is good if you want to write chinese and know the basics. I suggest that you should also take your time as there are only 12 exercises that include writing characters and then applying them to practice questions.
