NOW Supplements, Mood Support with St. John's Wort, Nutrient and Herbal Extracts, 90 Veg Capsules

I’ve been taking these for a few weeks now and can honestly say they’ve helped. My mood feels a little more balanced, and I don’t get that heavy, low feeling as often. It’s not a quick fix, but after consistent use, I noticed a steady lift. The capsules are easy to swallow and don’t have any weird aftertaste. I also like that it’s a mix of herbs and nutrients, not just St. John’s Wort alone. Wow!!! I’ve noticed an immediate improvement after taking these for only a week. I feel great, sleep and dream gently, I have energy! Overall, I feel happy!! Maybe my body needed what these supplements give, because I am amazed at how quickly these absorbed and went right to work to give me back the happy mood I’d lost. My focus is better, my anxiety has smoothed out, I have clarity and patience. I take mine after dinner. Thank you NOW!

These are great and I do notice a difference when I don't take them. They give me a calm centered uplifted outlook. You're supposed to take two, but I just take one as needed. I have taken two before, but it's just a stronger calm outlook, but maybe too relaxed, which is why I only take one. I'm not looking to sleep. I have work to do. I wouldn't necessarily recommend taking this at the start of the day if you're looking for upbeat energy. I tend to take one capsule the second half of the day after lunch. By the time it kicks in it's about two hours later and pushing towards the evening. What adds to the relaxing feeling is the Valerian root and L-Theanine. They should take the Valerian root out. That's supposed to be for sleep. Not all of us want to spend the day sleepy. We want to be productive and have enough energy to get things done. This is one of the reasons why I knocked one star off. The minerals and vitamins in this are all good for you, so that's a plus. It's just odd that they would mix Vitamin B12 for energy with Valerian Root to make you sleep. Not sure why they decided to mix the two. There is a side effect I've noticed for me and that is that it seems to reduce sex drive. This is no doubt coming from the 5 HTP that's in this as I've taken 5 HTP before and had to stop as it messed with my sex drive. When I stopped taking the 5 HTP, my sex drive came back at full force. For now, I'll only take Mood Support when I truly need it, such as a stressful event is or has taken place. I take this for a couple days and I breeze right through it. This stuff seems to work within an hour or two, whereas prescribed anti-depressants can take up to two weeks to start taking full effect.

UPDATE: 27 months later... So life haD been humming along, and things got better. Around month 27, my racing thoughts, angry disposition, fatigue came back, full force, even though I was taking the pills (yes, sometimes I did forget). I decided to switch to another "happy pills" brand - but it only eliminated my severe depression, anger - not my racing thoughts and fatigue. I finished the other bottle, and came back to Mood Support - and I'm back to my calm, happier self. So now I figure I may have to switch it up sometimes. Still worth it's weight in gold. PLEASE NEVER STOP MAKING THIS, NOW FOODS!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have suffered from depression since my teens - fast forward 20 years later and going through a bitter divorce - I felt I needed something like this. I read the reviews and was excited - then found it hard to purchase as it was no where to be found. I finally got my hands on a couple of weeks ago - and I will never be without it. I have always suffered from gruesome nightmares - The Faces of Death version. Any imaginable way a human being could die would play in my dreams on a nightly basis. I have never suffered from witnessing anything gruesome, and never watched horror films so as to not provoke the imagination - but still it persisted for years. Within a week of taking these supplements, my nightmares are gone. My dreams are still bizarre (as many dreams are), but not bloody and stomach churning. I am no longer terrified as I drift into sleep. That is how I know they work. You can try to control waking life, but I have yet to master and maneuver the subconcious - and such a radical change in dreams, in a week's time - tells me all I need to know about this product. I also feel much more hopeful in the possibilities for the future, whereas before, I was generally pessimistic, negative and angry. I am still me, but I smile a little more now, and more importantly, I'm starting to think about new possibilities in the new chapter in my life, and I am much more accepting in how my life is presently - as opposed to being angry at the world for my plight and figuring out how to battle the persistent reasons as to why I wanted to end it all. Mood Support, for me, has been a lifesaver, and I do not say that lightly.
