Great trail map
I should note that I don't use paper maps for navigation, I have a couple of GPS's for that. I use paper maps for finding new places to hike, and identifying landmarks (such as lakes or mountains that I see in the distance). For that, this map is perfect. It seems to show most, if not all, of the official trails in the area. I have not abused the map, so I don't know how well it would fare at the bottom of a lake, but it does feel very sturdy and waterproof, and I feel confident that it will withstand many years of folding and unfolding.

Best maps for hikers
The National Geographic maps are the best for hikers. They have all the roads and trails, but make the pedestrian trails very visible. They also clearly outline the different management zones (USFS vs National Park, vs Wilderness areas, etc). I highly recommend these!

Get nat geo or forestry service maps only!
I recommend only buying Nat Geo maps. Theyre strong, rip proof, waterproof and most importantly, they ise all of the available space for actual maps. No scenic pics of wildlife, no info about birds. Just a good map!

We are pleased with the map
We are pleased with the map, it shows just about every forest service road all the way up to the hiways. We use it to explore back country.
