Do these nails have a curve to them?

The Ballerina style does have a curve.

Within a few days, my nail shape changes and rounds out, looking more almond. Is my batch defective or does this happen to anyone?

It might be that the nail is molding to your nail bed and it's causing that shape. On me, squares tend to flare out so coffins and almonds work better on me.
