Best chakra book on the market!!
After reading many NEW AGE books i can honestly say that this is the best chakra book on the market, as this book deals with the EASTERN philosophies, which is where this information came from, i have noticed that alot of these new agers, tend not to credit the actually source of the information, whereas this book does that perfectly. The author includes many ancient philosophies, and other accurate information that is true to the TANTIRC TEXT which these new agers, don't want to talk about.Good points:--breaks down each chakra, without waffling, gets straight to the point-shows charts and pictures to further define points being made-gives credit to the eastern philosophies-gives information that other new agers seem to "leave out"Bad points:--often gives a shallow break down of some topics and instead the author recommends you to get her other books-also would have been good, if the author gave information about some psychological traits, that indicate whether a chakra is functioning properly or not.But that is really the only bad point i can say about this book, as it is very WELL researched and includes information from the ORIGINAL TANTRIC TEXT where the knowledge of the chakras came from. but the only other bad point i will say is that, i feel like the chapter in the book called POWER OF MEDITATION is really a waste and was unnecessary to include in the book, because this author already has a book on meditation, and im sure she would have included, meditation for the chakra's in there. but instead in this book she tries to give you a written meditation, but then still recommends that you get audio CD'S from her website..... so basically places where she left out info and said get her other books i think that she should have included it in this book and the chapter on meditation should have been removed. but other than that this is still a GREAT book and i highly recommend this book, if you are looking for the TRUE information about the chakra's which is backed by knowledge from the ORIGINAL TANTRIC TEXT.

I Should have returned it
I was really looking forward to this book but was really disappointed when it arrived.A LOT of this book could and should have been edited out. For me she uses way too many "flowery" words to say what she means. There are many chakra books that are straight talking and to the point. I like that. If I want to look something up, I can get my answer right away. With this book you would have to re-read more than once to get her point and it would be difficult to figure out just where to look in the book to find a specific answer down the road.I know there are lots of followers out there that would disagree with me and that's just fine.

Some false information being given
The preview lured me in. When I got to the part concerning Kechari Mudra the author writes that it requires several surgeries to the tongue to achieve. As someone who has achieved Kechari Mudra without cutting the tongue I emphatically go on the record as stating cutting the tongue is NOT necessary. Practice Talabya Kriya as outlined in Ennio Nimis book and you can achieve it in a short period of time for me it took only 3 months. Just do an internet search for Ennio Nimis and Kriya you will find it swiftly. This book also is not indexed correctly if you buy it via Kindle edition be ready to go through every page in it to get to a search phrase or word.2012-12-23 I have found time to read more of this book and it is better than my original 3 star review so I bumped it up to 4 It may still go to a 5 star review we will see. Book formatting is still bad even on a kindle Paper White.

Good but....
Coming from the perspective of a western body/energy worker, I got this book hoping to learn a little about the Eastern tradition of chakras. I certainly got it and I'm sure it's all wonderful...if you want to learn about six of this, and seven of that, and fourteen of these other things, while learning a foreign language and trying to fathom a complex diety system. There's lots of affirmations, diagrams to color, exercises, and plugs for the authors other two books....which I hope I won't regret having purchased as much I did this one! I did love the first few chapters which was all I really needed -- I wasn't looking to take up a theology or mythic tradition, or TM.There are some awesome diagrams tying the body organs and systems to the chakras which I appreciated for pulling a few things together for me, which is why it gets three stars. But from about page 79 on, I felt like I was slipping into a coma and wanted a nap because of the complexities of the system presented here. I was uncomfortable with the 'God' thing in the affirmations, etc., the selling of the 'find a guru or you'll hurt yourself', as well as the 'look out for the bad guys on the astral/underworld planes bit...but hey, that might just be me!This definately isn't for intuitives. But it's absolutely great if you want to dive into Kundalini and yoga and really learn the Eastern Traditions thoroughly. This book will definately help you out there. Just make sure you buy her other books. Yep, one of those, you need the other book Exploring Meditation to do some of the exercises in this one. And you might want to get her Divine Revelation book too. (which sort of puts the kabosh on all the warnings given in this one about doing the work yourself!) Man, I hate when they do that!
