Marine Biology

If you are looking for an introductory marine biology book, you can find better books than this.This book is more about marine ecology than marine biology. I have other books with Marine Biology in the title that cover the biology part in much more details and illustrations of better quality and quantity. This book may be more up to date in covering the environment part of how the ecology is affected by climate and other factors.The format is not the most attractive to read. It has a lot of dry diagrams and graphs, and the pictures are not the most fascinating for a beginner to the topic, I'm sorry to say. There are page after page of content that just don't have any interesting graphics to keep my interest.I returned it in favor of 3 other textbooks on oceanography / marine biology. I had thought this book would be a more focused coverage on advanced topics in biology, but unfortunately it isn't.Not having a preview of the book on Amazon did not help either. I had to buy it first, to find out it isn't what I need.
