Worked great. Glad I got the 20” instead of the shorter one. Not an item I will use very often, but it seems durable enough to be up to the task in the next few years when I need it again.

I tried to like this, but am not happy. The cutting edge doesn't attach to the handle, so when you try to rotate it and cut into the ground, the handle spins. Anyone who designs a punch knows you cut by rotating, and this unit is not capable of it. The foot pedal is also really hard to stand on if you aren't straight above it. Look elsewhere sadly.

Did exactly as expected w/ease. Must use it more often each year to reap $ worth. However, certainly better than digging holes. Look forward to future sampling!

This soil sampler works great. The stainless steel feels strong and durable. The foot pedal makes it easy to push into the ground, and the ejector helps get the soil out cleanly. I’ve used it several times already for garden and lawn checks super helpful tool.

I own an OSSF design firm and we conduct field analyses/site evaluations during which you have to probe the soil without disturbing the layers so you can see what it looks like in its natural state. I was looking for a method of doing this that wouldn’t break the bank and came across this sampler. It’s very well built, quite hefty which is good and with the addition of the push pedal and plunger the design is very easy to use. This has made my life way easier!
