Good reference for medical students
Purchased as a gift for my good friend who is a current 2nd year medical student at a U.S. medical school in anticipation of starting his 3rd year in July. I am a current 2nd year medical student as well, and will likely purchase this as a quick reference for when I begin my clinical 3rd year in May.I bought this after receiving recommendations from more senior students as to the utility and ease of use of this guide. From looking through the book after purchase, I really like the layout, format, and information contained therein. Lots of easily sorted information about clinical diagnoses and the appropriate testing and patient management .Will update this year during/post 3rd year once I have more experience with it on the wards myself.

Useful, but brief clinical explanations for when different tests ...
Useful, but brief clinical explanations for when different tests and workups should be ordered for varying conditions all in one small book make this a good resource for healthcare professionals in the position to order labs and other tests. For instance rationale between deciding between using contrast or no contrast, etc. Helpful.

Great book. My last one was a few years ...
Great book. My last one was a few years old and the current testing criteria was out of date. Purchased this one and showed it to one of my fellow clinicians and he noted that it was up to date with current testing for all disease processes. Great resource and I would recommend it to any student, new grad, or anyone who realizes you can't know it all. Easy to navigate, but on a few diagnoses you have to sort of know what you're looking for, but it's not a deal breaker for buying this book.

This book is good and current
I have been in practice for over 25 years in IM -Geriatrics .This book is good and current .The problem I see is that the book itself is very small and the print is difficult to read .I can certainly be willing to pay a bit more for a larger book which contains this relevant clinical laboratory review. The illustrations and diagnostic images of course are equally small .I would not buy it again if size remains a problem .Too bad publishers did not contemplate the size factor when printing Dr Ferri's excellent work .

Very useful handbook
My copy arrived bound upside down and backward and I still wouldn't think of sending it back. It's hard to get through a day without consulting this book. This copy has even more images and explanatory diagrams than the last and it was excellent. If you are primary care this book is an excellent resource to stay current on new methods of imaging and their indications.

Very helpful resource!
I recommend this book to all new providers. The biggest help is to quickly look something up before sounding like an idiot to a patient or attending!! It has everything you need to know and can help you choose the best test for the patient.

Easy read always a plus
Absolutely recommend this lab manual. It's a great resource and easy to read especially under pressure. Also it's easy on the eyes. Awesome cheat sheet during clinicals, so your preceptor would be pleased to see you open up one of these for a reference.
