Does not come with key shroud, you will to re-use the one from your old keyboard
Works great, fits my T490 perfectly! Some of the function keys have different functions mapped to them compared to the stock/original keyboard, but don't create any real issue. The backlighting works well, a bit dimmer that I expected, but I did test this out in a well lit room.As mentioned in the title, you will need to re-use the key shroud/frame from your old keyboard as this replacement one did not have it!good luck with the swap!

Not even backlit. Cheap material.
The letters on the key caps are printed-on ink. Not transparent. Depending on the chassis style you're working with you will likely not even be able to see the back-light when turned on as the light would have to escape the cracks between the keys and chassis. So it's not a really real back-lit keyboard. They material is noticeably cheaper feeling compared to the factory lenovo keyboard on my t490s. Will probably return it. Also means I have to take the screws off again :) As you may have heard on this thread, there are 60 tiny screws to remove. Not hard but takes a lot of time.Ribbons were also backwards and misaligned on the model I received. Not the worst as some minor adjustments fixed but still not a good product in my eyes.Get dunked on crappy keyboard. Woot woot.

Works, with caveats…
I’m not sure if this keyboard is used on other Thinkpad models, but in terms of the T14S, the ribbon cable for the keyboard and backlight were upside down. I had to pull back the slack taped to the board and shove/bend wires in the chassis awkwardly to get them reversed, and that is a terrifying process! It did end up working in the end, TrackPoint nub felt cheap and plasticky but it did work. Backlight seemed a little lackluster but again, everything did work.Just be very careful when replacing these keyboards, and make sure to bring a VERY tiny screwdriver and a LOT of patience, about 50+ of the tiniest screws you’ve ever seen and basically every component has to be removed on the T14S to service the keyboard.

Didn't solve my problem just moved it elsewhere
I don't know how to rate this keyboard. It was intended to be a replacement for my current one that was not working for some keys. Specifically the backspace, [{}] keys. The replacement fixed those key though now others don't work. Perhaps this keyboard is just a poor design. There is a lot on line about these the X1 keyboards not working properly.Replacing the keyboard is not for the faint hearted. Everything has to be taken apart. The keyboard is the last item and it is secured with 80, yes 80, tiny screws. Taking those out and putting in the new keyboard again with those same screws, (new ones were not supplied) was hours of work. The keyboard I took out had a cellophane cover stuck to it. There was not one on the new keyboard so I tried my best to peel it off and stick it on the new one.Result when it was all put back togetherThe broken keys worked. However now the 0 - (though not the _ on the same key) and a couple of other keys stopped working. As did the joystick mouse control switches.I tried a couple of time to find a mistake. Have cleaned all the ribbon connectors etc.I have given up and use an external keyboard.

Worked perfectly for my X1 Extreme Gen3
Lots of tiny screws to remove during the replacement process. Recommend searching YouTube for instructions if you've never done this before. Other than that, I can vouch for the fact it works perfectly in my X1 Extreme Gen3.

Ruins the Lenovo Keyboard Experience
The media could not be loaded. The keyboard works for my Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen 2 - sort of.I didn’t handle the keyboard installation myself; it was done professionally. The installers struggled to properly connect the trackpad, and even after getting it to work, the TrackPoint caused the cursor to drift upward, rendering the trackpad unusable until I disabled the TrackPoint.About half the keys, mainly the letter ones, feel roughly 75% as good as the original, but their quality is inconsistent. One key might feel solid, while the one next to it rattles, which is jarring when typing. The larger keys—Shift, Spacebar, Caps Lock, Enter—feel awful, like they’re on the verge of breaking. If you’re familiar with Lenovo keyboards, it’s that sensation of a key about to fail, raising concerns about their durability. Also, when I try to capitalize words using Shift or press other large keys, they won’t register unless I hit them precisely in the center. This forces me to slow down and correct uncapitalized words, disrupting my typing flow. The claim of a backlit keyboard is complete fiction. The keys are opaque, and even in total darkness, there’s no illumination—just some light leakage between the keys.Replacing it again feels like a chore, but if it weren’t such a pain and I could find a high-quality keyboard that's not $300, I’d swap it out immediately. My X1 Extreme was a joy to type on, but this keyboard ruins that. I wouldn’t recommend it, and if anyone knows a reliable replacement for the X1 Extreme, I’m all ears. Why did you pick this product vs others?:Reviewers said it worked well for them with Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen 2, and price.Value for money:Depends on your priorities. If you don't mind a far sub par experience and just want something that works (sort of)...Keyboard quality:Inconsistent, poor.

Just as needed for X1 Extreme Gen 2
I got P/N: SN20R58769 for my X1 Extreme Gen 2 to fix my keyboard that had a cracked trace and wouldn't type several letters. This replaced has LEDs for the caps/fnlock/mute just as the original and was a perfect replacement. So far everything is working as expected and it feels just like the original. (possibly the keys have a bit more spring and may even be better quality than the OEM)

Great product...but it didn't work
Fast shipping. Product was exactly as ordered (thus 5 stars here). Unfortunately, replacing laptop keyboards on Lenovo laptops is not as easy as it might appear. This was the perfect match, BUT, the existing keyboard was glued to the case and not serviceable. So, sadly, this wouldn't work. No complaints against the seller, or the shipper; all great. Thanks.
