I bought this for my computer. I had bought a bare bones system off of the internet (not really knowing what that meant)- Basically it means it has just enough stuff to make the computer turn on. The guy did throw in a mouse and keyboard though. so when it came time to connect to the internet...guess what? No wifi. So I looked around, and no being too computer savy I really didn't want to mess with one of those cards you have to put inside the computer. It did have usb jacks in the back so I bought this one. It arrived with a tiny usb device and a small dvd. (I had previously bought a cheap external dvd drive or I guess I would have been in trouble) I plugged in the USB and loaded the drivers on the DVD to the computer. When I booted everything up, I had internet! Pretty simple. Amazing fast speed. See the photos below for the difference between 802.11g and 5G with this bad boy. If you have Windows 10 insert dongle into a USB port, wait about 30 seconds and you are good to go. Drivers are included in Windows 10. If you have an older O/S everybody suggests installing the CD drivers first. I had no problem with Windows 10 installation. Then find the 5G network in wireless settings and choose it. You type in your password and hold on. Great product for the price, especially on older computers that don't have this technology.

took a little time to get it installed correctly. after the first install, none of my usb ports would reconigze anthing. I removed the software, reinstalled it, same thing. After trying several things, i found out that after installing it i needed to move it to another usb port and the wifi worked as well as all the other ports. ??? BTW, i installed it on a laptop with windows 7 and its 1 floor below and about 40 feet away from my router but it has a strong signal and works great....no need to run hardwire.

I upgraded my internet service provider and speed, but my 8 year old desktop still ran slow when running speedtest. It had built in wifi, but it was slow. I ordered this device as it matched the bands my new ISP provided. It arrived quickly, I installed the driver then the wifi card. My PC was connecting on the old "built in" network interface, so I had to disable it on the screen. The network interface on the screen now showed a new network interface for the new wifi card and I activated the new one at the highest speed. It synced right up and now runs at the full new ISP speed. Overnight, after the PC had been in sleep mode, it went back to the old interface (slow one). I shut down the old interface, activated the new interface, all was back good. I rebooted my PC, and I have always been on the new interface since the reboot. I love this thing!

This little device is amazing! I live in a townhouse so I wanted to have a computer downstairs and one upstairs without having to pay an extra $30 a month for an extra modem. Took just a few minutes to install. Step 1 Insert mini disc (do not plug in adapter) Step 2. Install Program Step 3. Select Windows folder (or which ever system you have, I have Windows 8). Step 4 Select setup (the one that says application/s on the right side of the screen, I think it's under program type) some people might have a different setup. Step 5. Double tap and finish install (it's going to restart computer.) Step 6.Plug in USB adapter and ALL DONE! I swear it took me longer to type this than to install it.

Can't get it to work on any computers, bought another one, same thing, can't connect, the review said plug and play, not true, but this is just my experience, I don't think it's the mini broadband, I'm probably just not doing something right.Update, this guy contacted me and said he was sorry I couldn't get it to work, well he sent me another one, no questions asked and I got the new one to work, must of been defective, Wow what a dealer, I'll be buying more from him, as his word is as good as gold, thank you kind sir.

I bought this for my windows 7 desk top to convert it to wifi. It arrived quickly & I began to follow the instructions in the booklet that it came with and didn't have any success. I checked out the item here again on Amazon and followed the instructions left by seller and it finally worked.However I can see the option to hook up to my 5ghz and it even says excellent network, but when I try it says "windows can't connect" it's only allowing my desktop to connect to 2.4 and it's lagging . If anyone knows how to fix this that would be great. My son is a gamer and the 5ghz is what sold me on this and its not connecting

Worked great at first but then, after automatic updates it never worked again. Tried updating drivers, googling a solution, uninstalling and reinstalling... nothing. Seemed to be a driver issue. After 3 hours I gave up and ordered a plug and play wireless adapter that doesn't need drivers. I don't have time or patience to keep messing with this.
