The single-seat Viper Mk. II, suitable for flight both in planetary atmosphere and deep space, is reputed to be the most famous space superiority fighter used by the Colonial Forces. The first examples, specially designed for use on Battlestars, went into service shortly before the start of the first Cylon War. The Mk. II saw exemplary service during the first Cylon War which earned it special recognition throughout the twelve colonies. It is regarded as one of the reasons why the Colonials were not beaten by the Cylons, which explains its great fame. The fighter, which is about 8.40 m long, is flown by one pilot, has two kinetic energy weapons and external stations for rockets, munitions carriers and other equipment under the wings.

I love this model
I love this model, not just because Battlestar Galactica was such a great series but also as it a well detailed and high quality model which now sits on a book shelf in the dining room.I didn't have any problems building this and decided to go for the clean paintwork, the transfers on the nose and the wings took a little time to get right but all is completed now. I finished this whilst my son was working on models of his own, it meant we spent time together and also is very relaxing (not sure why, maybe the concentration stops you thinking about the other worries in your life).

It was easy to enough through careful planning to build and paint ...
I bought this as a novice who wanted to practice weathering and airbrushing. It's officially my fourth complete model. It was easy to enough through careful planning to build and paint it in sections rather throwing it all together, and having to do to a lot of masking.I had concerns about the stand provided. Move the model slightly and the neck flexes, the model wobbles. It eventually snapped for me. I'm in the middle of finding an alternative base/stand.

Great Value for a Beautiful Result
I have to say that, for the scale of the model and price I paid (as well as previous reviews), I wasn't expecting much from this kit at all. When I opened the box however I found that there was very little preparation to be done. The mouldings were well formed with only minor filing of edges required in places and fitted together beautifully - though I did have to remove two of the wing support "prongs" during a step by step construction (these didn't get in the way during the one step dry run). I used Humbrol primer with no damage to the plastic surface and painted it with Vallajo Acrylics for the most part and was blown away by the result. I must say that I'm not new to modelmaking but I probably enjoyed this kit the most. I'd highly recommend it.

great purchase, supremely happy
Cant seem to upload a photo but this is a marvellous kit. Good size model with nice detailing. Good moulding requiring very little trimming and filing. Decals are good though for the red striping livery I chose to paint as the decals didn't quite form into the model details for my liking. As for the price, at £15 this is a steal! Next on the list the viper mk7 from moebius then if I can find one a raptor kit!

Highly Recommended
Being an avid fan of the tv show and a modeller, I couldn't resist buying myself one of these. Builds up really nicely and all the parts are well moulded and fit well (no filler here!!). You have a choice of modelling Starbuck's or Apollo's Viper with the figures included. I really enjoyed building this and adding a little wear and tear to a work-horse. It has inspired me to try further Sc-fi models in the future.

A great kit!
This is a fantastic kit for the experienced and inexperienced modeller alike. I haven't built it yet, but from looking at it closely it appears to go together really well and the level of detail is very good. For the inexperienced modeller it will easily build into a good replica of the Viper, the red stripes are decals so you don't have to worry about painting straight lines! There is also plenty of scope to weather this kit - some of the Vipers were really bashed up in the TV series. For the experienced modeller there will be scope to add more detail, if you're that way inclined (although I don't think it need it) but the real bonus will be lighting this kit. Being 1:32 this is a large kit and will look great lit. The engines are easy to light but the cockpit will need a bit of work. With a good paint job this kit will shine whether it is lit or not. This is the cheapest price around as well (that include ebay), so it's a real bargain at £15 - catch it while you can.I'm really looking forward to building this kit.

Good kit
This kit is good, it's well boxed and instruction are clear. Fair bit of cleaning up of mould lines and extra plastic but end result is good. Suffers a bit compared Bandai and new Revell kits but still a nice display space craft for your collection

Good but not great
Good but not great. Some of the pieces could have fit together better, however the instructions were reasonably good and the finished product looks great

Great kit and price
I decided to light this model with leds and it looks awesome when done ,just needed to go round with sandpaper on some of the pieces to remove some flash but i am well impressed with it.kit measures 10.5 inches long when built and it cost half the price of the moebius version.ive also ordered the galactica model but not started it yet.it really is a great kit you wont be dissapointed, even if you dont light it up this kit still looks awesome.highly recomended!!
