Ive used Mullein tea bags before but this is the first time Ive used the ‘raw herb’.The one thing to be aware of is there is quite a bit of dust, which escapes the mesh of a tea infuser and can irritate the throat when drinking.The best way to overcome this, is to fill your infuser and gently tap it to allow the dust to fall through and until there is no more.I also add honey to make it more palatable.I have been taking it morning and night for the last 5 days and have found relief from a very chesty cough. It loosens mucous and acts as a relaxant at night so sleep has been deeper and less disturbed.

If you have a serious latex allergy,l ike you need an Epi-pen if exposed or breakout in hives, avoid this tea at all cost! No offensive to the manufacturer, but it is NOT common knowledge that the mullein plant produces a latex-based sap.My husband and I had pneumonia this winter and everyone was raving about mullein. I did the research and believed it was safe for us. But I did not delve deep enough. My husband got sicker and sicker. And so did I. Finally, I read 1 small article stating that the sap of the mullein plant contains latex and that answered all our problems.My husband is deathly allergic to latex and I have a sensitivity. Regardless, if latex is an issue for you, DO NOT USE MULLEIN IN ANY FORM WHATSOEVER.Hope this helps for latex-weary people.
