Works fine as an extension cable for a 4th generation Echo Dot. Looks much better than the white cord that was included with the black device. Keep in mind that you still need the original cable, since it is permanently affixed to the transformer plug.

Before buying this product, I tried buying (and returning) the Made for Amazon 10FT Power Cable Extender (B07RV4Y13Z). That cable kinda works, but due to a poor fit, it is not very reliable. The connection is not secure, so occasionally the Dot would loose power. THIS is a great fitting cable and works with the Echo Dot 3rd Gen as a DC power extension. I purchased the 10 foot one and am very happy with it.

Cable works to extend the power cable for the Amazon Echo Dot/Alexa of the 3rd generation. This is fantastic, as when I upgraded from the previous generation I was surprised to see that the old USB-power cable was no longer used. As my Echo Dot is placed on top of a high cabinet in my bathroom, with the cable running down a narrow chasm between the wall and the cabinet, I was otherwise in a tight bind to get the cable to the outlet 15 feet away. My first attempt was to get a standard extension cord and plug in the Amazon power adapter at the end. The problem is that the power adapter is too fat to fit in the chasm and the cable too short to make it all the way up.This cable fits perfectly and otherwise seems well made. Highly recommend for the 3rd gen Echo Dot
