Roberto weaves his magic
Calasso binds us incessantly with his erudition and interpretation. The curse of a believe to be chosen by the only God; their removal and return to a land promised to them by that wrathful God...... The fidelity that their God demands from them..... The celebration of Holocausts. ... demanded by their God.... This book is a gem

Kindle Sources Worthless
The book is really an amazing feat of a polymath but the list of Sources in the Kindle edition is seriously flawed to the point of being worthless. The print edition has the page and number of the text to which each reference refers and then either chapter and verse or page number in the work being cited. In the Kindle edition all numbers have been removed and all that remains is a bunch of links. So if you are on page 40 of the text and you want to know what sources are cited you have to go to the Sources and click on links until you find one that takes you to page 40 in the text. Then all the link will say is I Chronicles or ibid and it will not have the chapter and verse in the biblical book.

Cool book by a real genius
Though you think you know the stories in the Bible, Robert Colosso weaves together information from throughout the Bible and other contemporary sources to give you a new and more nuanced picture of the Old Testament, its characters and their backgrounds and contexts. It's a really engaging book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Top of all the Pages are Stitched Together
All of the pages are perforated together, at the top, in groups of five to eight pages. I am not going through the whole book and pulling them apart. I tugged on a couple of pages, and the top of the pages tore. I can'timagine the book publisher, Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, of New York, would ship a book in this condition. I received this brand new book, entitled "The Book of all Books," on January 25th, 2022. Buyers, beware that this can happen to you.Ron Greene

Challenging
Well written. I don’t agree with everything the author wrote, but it challenged my thinking.
