A very honest and accurate telling of her life story. I found it compelling. Her retelling of her time in jail was the most interesting part of her life in my opinion.

A truly awesome work. While the events were taking place I was able to follow them fragmentarily being on active duty in the military. I did however purchase a copy of George Jackson’s book and read it respect for his stand and anger of his treatment. Most tragic of all was his murder and the death of his brother Jonathan. That Angela Davis was found not guilty was a God send imo. The book brings to light terrible struggle of a great people in a hate filled racist society.

Great autobiography ,my only issue is the omission of any photo's. With all the historical photo's of Angela Davis in circulation, from her F.B.I wanted poster to more recent pictures, why in her autobiography was it decided not to include any photo's at all?. Personally in autobiographies in particular, I find photo's vital in telling the life story of the writer. Not sure why no photo's (not even a childhood or high school year book photo?) were included in this book?. I think the photo's would had made a very good book a great one.

Great book

It was wonderful get up close and personal work the person behind the legacy of Angela Davis. In some ways, she’s nothing like what I imagined, but in other ways, more than what I had hoped for. I’m really glad I took the opportunity to learn more.

Read and learn, deconstruct all the anti-communist propaganda and let Angela Davis enlighten you on how to liberate all people from our oppressive society.

The events in this book surrounding Angela Davis have far reaching influences, and consequences, even today. Amongst your reading list of understanding political movements, this should definitely be one of them.
