What a handy, nifty little tool. The small hole at the end makes changing needles much easier, and that's when this tool gets the most use. It's also great for its intended purpose of sewing over vastly different thicknesses. Its thick and feels like it will be a lasting item.

Works perfectly for levelling out my sewing machine's foot when going over very thick seams so as not to stall the stitching. Very happy with it and a great tool to add to my sewing tool kit.

I love it

I was looking all over the web to find this device and ended up on good ole Amazon. Previously, I used the Jeans-A-Ma-Jig wedge to hem jeans, but liked the idea of a dual thickness device like this clearance plate. This duality, plus the fork-like shape, make it more convenient to move and accurately reposition than the JAMG wedge. I bought two of them. My only critique is that it needs a catchier name so people can find it more easily.
