Good Turntable, But Defective.
These canned reviews make it difficult to state real reasons. This unit SOUNDS and PERFORMS well/ I would have kept it. But this one is defective. The right channel sounds like a volcano. It is absolutely the turntable that is defective. THe amplifier and cable were tested first. Both are noiseless, within expected ranges. But the noise in the right channel makes the turntable unusable. As far as I am concerned, that is not a problem of design. It is a problem of quality control on the assembly line. Either the problem existed before it was shipped, in which case it SHOULD have been found before shipping, or there is some intermittent problem that shook loose in shipping. In either case, this should have been found before it was shipped to FBA. Again, were it not for the noise, I would have been happy with the turntable, so odds are that, if you buy one, you won't have a problem, unless there is a recurring QC problem.

Not as good as the AT-LP60
This turntable looks a lot like the AT-LP60, but has 78 RPM speed, and a counterweighted tonearm tracking at 3.5 grams (see attached photo). But unfortunately it has a plastic platter (despite the description claiming it is aluminum), some motor noise is can he heard in the audio, the sound quality is tinny, there is no way to bypass the built-in pre-amp, and the auto-return mechanism engages too soon on some records.
