A Portable Laptop Stand with Strength!
I bought another one before this and it was great when I first got it, but after a short while, pieces started to come off of it. I threw that one in the junk room, and I quickly bought this one (Nexstand). It's doing very well so far. None of the pieces are coming off, and it's very sturdy. It folds up and fits right in my backpack. It actually extends up pretty high, too. Higher than the other ones like this. My MacBook Pro is so much cooler now that I'm using this stand. I highly recommend it!

The best portable laptop stand I've used
Ergonomics: Most stands only raise the back of the laptop, meaning the screen doesn't get much closer to the user's eyes. This stand is an improvement in that aspect. I'm a visually impaired programmer who works while traveling, and this stand is an ergonomic game changer.Durability: I've had mine for 3 years. It gets setup at least once/day. It has gone to 4 continents over dozens of trips. The stand shows no signs of wear such as loosening or smoothened rubber pads.Sturdiness: Due to the visual impairment, I tend to lean on the stand while working. It's borderline indestructible when collapsed. Mine's nowhere close to failing, but I'd quickly buy another if it did.

For Those Debating Which Stand to Buy Between Nexstand and Roost
It was difficult to decide which laptop stand to buy so I ended up getting both the Nexstand and Roost for comparison. Although both are great laptop stands and the Nexstand is better at price; however, I give the Roost the slight edge. In the pictures I posted for reference, the Nextstand is on the bottom (with and without the attachment clip for the clasps) and the Roost is on top. Here are my comparisons which gives the Roost the slight edge:1) Nexstand is slightly bigger and bulker than the Roost. Size difference is noticeable between the two (e.g. Nexstand protrudes horizontally by about quarter of an inch longer). I have limited real estate on my temporary work space as I telework from home during COVID. The Nexstand made it a little challenging to layout/configure my gear based on available space, where as the Roost has a slightly smaller footprint which is ideal in my situation. However, this should not be a concern if you have ample space on your work station.2) Although fairly stable; however, Nexstand seemed to slide more on my table. Granted this is dependent on the material type of the table, but having two kids around run my desk made me uneasy on the chance they might bump the table and knock over my laptop. I felt I would need to put down some contact paper on the legs of the Nexstand to prevent any shifting. On the other hand, the Roost has a rubberized type material on the bottom of the front wheels. The amount of shift in movement is significantly noticeable between the two laptop stands.3) Although laptop was secure in the clasps; however, I found it tedious having to detach and reattach the clasp adapters for my personal and work laptops. For some reason, neither one setting (i.e. with or without clasp attachments) seemed to fit both laptops since my personal laptop is much thinner than my work laptop. In addition, there is a risk to losing the attachments if you are not careful (which I heard may be difficult to replace). I had no issues having both laptops fit the clasps of the Roost. The Roost having rubberized clasps was a nice touch too.I am only providing my observations in case you feel undecided on which laptop stand to purchase. Although I give the Roost the slight edge; however, I still enjoyed the using laptop stand even with the concerns I described up above. This all comes down based on preference and your work/home situation. My wife plans to use the Nexstand for her work laptop, so neither of us did not leave empty handed.

When you don't mind intellectual property theft but also want it fast
I've used my Nexstand for home and travel use since 2019 and I've been very happy with it. I haven't tried hammering anything with it or otherwise abusing it but it's been great for it's intended role.Back in 2019 it was only 28 bucks, which was a steal compared to the 80 dollar original, the 2013 kickstarter Roost, which the Nexstand takes extensive design cues from. Maybe all of the design cues. But now that it's up to 45 dollars, I felt like writing this review...If you don't mind waiting a month, you can still get the Nexstand K2 for 20 bucks by using AliExpress. Just remember to pay attention to the order count and don't use the sellers with no or low order counts. I'm about to order 2 more so I can keep one in another room and one in my backpack for commuting and travel.

This is a great product and easy to use right out of the box. Helps you adjust the laptop to the lighting and helps eliminate need for ring light glaring in your eyes.

Worth the money spent, durable and compact!
So just a small disclaimer, I've only had this for about 3 weeks so I cannot judge nor comment on its state going forward for a year or two at least (that's what I expect it to last for, given the money I spent on it).1) Ergonomic:- Since the stand is adjustable, it pretty much starts off as compact and folded which can fit in almost all types of laptop bags (unless your bag and laptop are thin and small xD). The fact that it is adjustable means that it can ensure your laptop is at level with your eye on almost any table height. Also, it can fit almost any laptop size, my laptop is quite heavy and is about 15 inches (roughly 40-45 cm) in width and it fits snug on the stand.2) Durability:- This is where I cannot give a guarantee as I've only had it for 3 weeks, but given the price and the materials used in making it, I would be surprised if it lasted for more than a year or two xD, but that's the whole point! You're getting your money's worth in a sense. I didn't want to spend on a $70 stand that's also adjustable, and the other good-quality ones are not adjustable, unfortunately.3) Stability:- So far, it's managed to stay perfectly still given the weight of my laptop and I haven't noticed any wobbles. All in all, worth the money paid for if you arent willing to spend over $50 for a stand and you need something adjustable, but if you are working in an office and rarely take your laptop anywhere, I would highly suggest investing in a decent fixed stand (I'm sure there are those below $50) which may last even longer than this stand.

Good Value, well made
I recently purchased the APzek foldable stand which in all but name is the same as the much praised Roost. The former is £15, the latter £70. I have done a detailed review of it on Amazon. -The only small criticism I had on that otherwise phenomenal product was that the minimum height is around 22cm. It's not possible to lower it further. So here are my views on the Nexstand. Please see the photos for comparison.Build quality is good and the stand opens and closes effortlessly. It doesnt quite feel as solid as the APzek but I have no complaints about fit and finish. The Nexstand is slightly larger and perhaps 40 to 50 gramms heavier, not a huge margin but it may or may not make the difference between fitting in your bag or not. Check measurements. While the APzek has softer rubber protection on the clamps and front feet, the Nextand has what feels like soft plastic on the front feet and clamps. - The result is the Nexstand may slide more on smooth surfaces and the clamp may be slightly harder on the laptop. However, after using it no marks were left on my 15" 2019 XPS. - Still, worth bearing in mind longer term and I probably would advise to buy some self adhesive rubber tape to add a bit of protection and slip resistance. The Nexstand will adjust lower than the APzek (see photos) if that is important to you. It also has more levels between lowest and highest. The APzek has three, which I feel are perfectly adequate, minimum height aside.Clamp size is slightly larger on the Nexstand so if you have something like a gamers machine, that's probably the one to get. It comes with inserts (hard plasic) for very slim ultrabooks though I probably would'nt use those without adding some rubber protection//tape if you use an expensive machine. The bag it comes in a softer nylon sock style, the APzek's is more of a tent material. Both will do the job.So, which one to choose? As both are clearly made for travelling, my vote would probably go to the APzek. Essentially you are getting the Roost stand for £50 less (but in fairness I think £70 for that product is somewhat over priced) - It's slightly smaller and lighter and a smidgen sturdier though the Nexstand is by no means badly constructed. The APzek has better rubber parts compared with the more plastic ones on the Nexstand. Both probably benefit from a little added protection. The APzek is also a little cheaper though neither is expensive for what you get.If you have an unusually large (thick) laptop my choice would be the Nexstand. It also goes lower than the APzek so that is a consideration too. Both highly recommended.Hope this helps.
