A little techy
I read a couple of reviews about this book before I ordered it which stated that the book was fairly technical and indeed it is. I still will find it useful and interesting although I may not get as much out of it as someone with a more technical backgroung.

Overall its a good book
When you read a book like this, the first thing you'll probably do is compare it to the books by Self or Cordell, and let me tell you this book is very different. To start, the books by Self and Cordell go into more detail and are focused mainly on how to minimize distortion, this book is focused on commercial architectures rather than distortion, distortion is rarely mentioned. The book in my opinion complements the other books, many subjects that are not covered in other books are mentioned here. The book has practically zero math yet it is quite technical, the author wont stop for a second to explain basic concepts, in some cases even advanced topics are given for granted, even many of the acronyms are not explained and expected to be known by the reader, this is not a beginners book, in fact I would advise not reading this book if you havent read the ones by Self and Cordell firtst. The graphs in the book are ok, but the pictures are completely useless, they all look like a black blob, it is impossible to recognize anything that the author refers to. The book is also dated, it was written in the mid 90s and it has not been updated, however, much of the information is still relevant.

I sold my copy....
I have bought many books on amplifiers..and agree with many other reviews here...this book is not worth the paper it is printed on! The cordell or self (power amp) books are much better.

In one word - USELESS
If you are looking at buying this book because someday you would like to build you own Audio Amplifier, forget it! There is really no information in this book that is useful in terms of that. Its very NON-TECHNICAL and personally I feel why would anybody write such a book ? What information is attempted at being given to the reader ? Utterly Useless! This one didnt even survive two hours.

Great book with lots of valuable information
This is a really good book if you are serious about audio power amplifier construction. It contains a lot of background information that is essential when you want to learn this particular field of wizardry. It does not contain any diy projects but instead gives you some of the fundament that is needed to start creating your own designs. When you have read the book it still remains useful as a reference. I find myself coming back to it time after time, a great book.
