Amazing! Game changer! Works like a charm - and so simple!
Amazing! Game changer! Works like a charm - and so simple!I’m a Road bike rider and saw immediate change in the wind noise that my AirPod pro 2 would otherwise amplify. The noise is totally gone and it’s pin drop silence now. I use this with a Giro helmet and ride at about 17 mph average. It only is the wind noise gone, the silence has helped me ride faster - must be psychological. The product is expensive for what it is - but totally worth it for the benefits. I wish I could invest in the company that sells these!

Easy to put on. Work well. Look goofy.
Super easy to put on. I purchased these to cut wind noise on my headphones. They work decently well, but definitely look goofy, so if you're concerned about appearances, be forewarned.

Excellent solution if you ride above 15 mph
The theory behind these things is the same as those fuzzy windscreens that you see on microphones outside. The fibers literally cause the wind to slow down by creating drag, thus reducing the noise made when air flows over your ears.Other reviewers commented about not being sure if these make a difference. There's a very easy test. Just pull the strap away from your ears when you are riding. Oh, boy! These make a big difference.I ride with Aftershokz Aeropex because riding with earbuds is just dangerous. The bone-conducting Aftershokz headphones allow me to also hear ambient noise of other riders, cars, people talking, etc.. When going fast, the wind noise is significant. The Cat-Ears are really simple and probably a tad overpriced at $15. But it's worth it for me. I'd definitely buy them again. If they were any more money, though, I'd head to a craft store to find a solution.I do want to mention that you shouldn't expect a miracle solution. They do not remove all wind noise. I got the medium ones. The thicker, larger ones probably remove more noise, but they make you look like you've got sideburns. The medium ones are barely noticeable. They look like the straps of the helmet. When you turn your head, or if the wind shifts, you can definitely notice a difference in the wind noise. And as I mentioned above, if you pull them away from your head, you can immediately hear how effective they are. They allow me to keep my headphone volume at a lower level, and I can hear more ambient noise.Cycling purists who are looking to remove every possible ounce and minimize drag probably might have a hard time adding something to increase drag. Me, I got a PR the first time I used these. So, I'm not concerned. IMHO, the tradeoff (if there is one at all) is worth it.

They Work.
They are overpriced given the small amount of material required here, BUT, they work. I have mild hearing loss and being able to talk to other riders in 10mph plus conditions was hard. Not anymore these get rid of 85% of wind noise. Great for earbuds too.

Expensive for what it is
These things work pretty well, almost as well as some I made just by wrapping some soft foam around my helmet straps and securing them with tape. They definitely reduce the noise from wind while riding. But there’s not much to them for price. I almost returned these to rely on my more effective homemade version but I decided that I’d save the hassle of return since they are easy to take on and off and are more waterproof than my version. I added a strip of narrow weather stripping to the inside of these to make them a little fatter and more effective. Possibly I should have bought the thicker model to begin with. I like being able to hear the birds and world around better. If you’re wondering if this sort of wind deflector will make much of a difference to you, you can easily test the theory while riding by putting a finger along side your face along the helmet strap.

Worked great
I bought the AirStreamz because they were rated for humid environments and I am in Florida. I wore them on a bontrager helmet and coupled with cheap Senso ear buds. I would give this product 105 stars! I found that the noise was reduced by 12-15 mph, meaning the amount of wind noise I got at a ride speed of 20 mph was what I got at 5-8 mph previously (i.e., not a lot of noise). When I would get wind noise at higher speeds, I just needed to adjust the helmet straps a a bit during the ride to maximize the reduction, but it was not difficult to do, just grabbed the strap and pulled it closer to the ear bud or rotated the muff. Now for my rant...With that said, i give the product -100 stars for their SEO and product name. I searched every so often over the course of a year on google looking for something like this and never once had a hit for this product. AND even after I knew the name of the product (cat ears) from a cycling reddit I couldn't find the product because all I got were headphones with cat ears attached to them in the search results. It took me 4 tries changing up the terms a bit to find it. For jimminy sake, get your SEO sorted out for "wind noise reduction ear buds" "wind muff for ear buds"

Not snake oil but not sure
Heard about these things and could see how that could make my rides, especially with head winds, more comfortable. I was like 'ah $16 bucks, that doesn't brake the bank, let me try it'.So I did. After 2 rides, i gave up on them. One fell off (guess by my own doing), they get soaked through sweating and I didnt like that feeling on the side of my face and as said earlier, it's not a very cool look. But most importantly, for me these things only made a slight difference (but really slight difference, with wind coming more from the side it didnt do as much. ) so just not worth it.Would i call this 'snake oil'? No probably not but it's one of those products that you buy to try it and because it's inexpensive (and i guess that's exactly the business case for this product/the seller). But in short, I did feel bad about my purchase, a waste of money.
